Sartana attached quickly a letter to a gift box that she left discreetly at Ernesto's window. Sure, she could serenade him with her version of "Las Mañanitas", but she didn't want to mess things up in case her voice cracked due to her emotions. The letter, hopefully, would make up for it.
Mi querido Ernesto:
Ante todo, feliz cumpleaños! I'm so happy that I got to meet you, and that you persisted until I fell in love with you. Many wouldn't have been as patient and understanding as you are, and every day I thank the fates for bringing us together. Muchas * for being part of my life, Ernesto. You made it all better just being there for me when nobody else was. Te amo, Ernesto.
With love,
Sartana
Ernesto found himself in the midst of a lively birthday bash, the room vibrating with the beats of a live band, the laughter of friends, and the mouthwatering scent of culinary delights from around the world. The crowd adored him; everyone wanted a piece of his time, proof of his cherished place amongst them.
Suddenly, the vibrant scene started to fade, the cheers becoming distant, the room's light dimming to nothingness. Ernesto was jolted back to reality, the liveliness of his imagined party replaced by the solitude of an empty room. The fantasy of guests, music, and joy had vanished, leaving him to face his birthday alone, without the fanfare he longed for.
However, in the silence, a ray of hope came in the form of a letter, distinct and personal, that waited just for him. Recognizing the writing on it, Ernesto's spirits lifted slightly. "Sartana…" he murmured, a small smile forming.
As he read through the loving words, he ran a hand through his hair, standing a bit taller, filled with renewed self-confidence. Her words made him feel appreciated and loved, he wasn’t alone after all. Chuckling softly, he felt ready to respond.
Sartana, mi amada diosa,
What a joy it is to hear from my favorite challenge of crimson lips! Trust me, your words were like a crowd's embracing applause on this important day of celebration: my birthday, of course.
Is giving up ever an option with me, especially when it comes to someone as wonderful and intriguing as you? Absolutely not! I've always found that the best things in life...or death...are those you have to chase a little, and Sartana, let me be clear; I’m in it for the long run. Whatever it takes!
Now, down to more pressing matters: ¡festividades de cumpleaños! I couldn't think of anyone better to share this illustrious day with than you. So, how about we eat cake under the stars, marvel at the universe (a tough competition to stealing glances at me, but give it a shot), and revel in the wonders of our combined company.
Looking forward to our stargazing and cake-devouring escapade.
Con amor siempre,
Ernesto
