two asks with a similar premise, so i'll answer them in one go:
actually, @riri-rikinzi you've kinda already hit my headcanon for this in one of your other asks XD i feel like manolo would be an aspiring musician as a youtuber or as a busker (probably both!) but he'd keep the former a complete secret from his family. so yeah, one day one of his covers/original songs just goes viral and carlos stumbles upon it and all hell would probably break loose lmao
maria i think would either be a librarian or a school teacher, who'd also be an activist. she'd also do a lot of volunteer work in her spare time :)
joaquin is probably the one who i think would follow a career path farthest from his canon story (i just don't see him working in the military or a police force in a modern au-- i dont think that fits his morals at all.) so hear me out... joaquin as a wrestler in a modern au >:D (likewise, captain mondragon would have been a wrestler too haha)
srry i dont have solid designs for them in a modern au, ill draw them in the future when i have proper ones :,D
