A/N : Re-reading âWho Are Youâ, I needed to write this. Iâm just lucky Iâm awake stupid early and have the time.
Addition to Who Are You.
You were in the kitchen making dinner when you heard the front door open and shut. Smiling to yourself, you waited for the screech of your toddler seeing her dad for the first time in two weeks. You heard the boot falls making their way into the house and could almost see her standing on the couch to turn and look into the hallway. She had been playing on the couch and watching Word World.
âUNCA DE!â
You flinched a bit, with a smile at how loud she was. Then it registered what she said. Uncle Dean. You only heard one pair of boots. Where was Sam? Panic started to set in as you put the knife down and washed your hands quick.
âHey, little Princess.â You could hear his smile, then a groan of pain as she ran into him. âCareful, Uncle Dean is pretty sore today.â
âBooBoo?â You walked out just as she looked up at him with her beautiful, big round hazel eyes.
âYeah, I got a few booboos.â He chuckled.
âI help! I make better!â She let go and ran for the bathroom. âMama! Unca De here.â She grinned as she ran past.
He smiled as he watched her, then looked up to meet yours eyes. He could see the fear all over your face. âDean.â You had to fight yourself to ask, scared for the worst. Especially with how Dean looked. He was cleaned up, but you could tell he had been covered in dried blood only a few hours ago, and a good portion of it had been his. âWhere is he?â
âHere!â Your daughter ran back holding Doc Mcstuffins band-aids. She made Dean bend over as she put one over his eyebrow, and another on his cheek. Kissing each one better after she did.
âBest doctor ever, sweetheart. I feel fantastic now.â He smiled. âNow go watch your show, Iâll come in a minute, okay?â She nodded and ran off.
âDean, where is Sam? Where is my husband?â You were out right terrified now. Sam hadnât come in, Dean wasnât answering. You were shaking, afraid youâd have to tell your small daughter Daddy wasnât coming home. After a bit of silence, he just gave you a small smile. âThis isnât funny Dean!â
âMama, it no nice to yell.â You heard your daughter from the living room.
He motioned behind you. You turned, and there stood Sam, arm in a sling, and a bit banged up, but he just smiled at you, roses in hand. âHappy anniversary baby.â
âYou asshole!â You cried and ran to him. He groaned a bit as you held him tight. âAnd I swear to god, if either of you crack some joke about you being alive is my gift, Iâll make you both regret it.â Sam chuckled, his good arm going around you. âDonât ever scare me like that again, Sam.â
âWouldnât dream of it.â He kissed the top of your head.
You looked up at him. âHow did you guys get so hurt?â
âThatâs your husbandâs fault.â Dean called out from the living room where he was now with your daughter, and you raised an eyebrow at Sam.
âI had a wife to get home to for our anniversary. Really didnât want to miss it. I guess me being home alive is sort of a gift.â He smirked.
You nudged his ribs, and he got a look of pain as he almost doubled over. âOh my god! Sammy, Iâm so sorry!â You felt horrible and started pulling at his shirt to see how bad his ribs were. You furrowed your brow seeing nothing wrong with his ribs at all, and looked up at him. He had a shit eating grin on his face. âYou asshole! Youâre a liar!â You nudged his ribs again.
He laughed, pulling you back into a hug. âItâs good to be home. I missed you.â
âI missed you too, Sammy.â You buried your face in his chest.
âAmmy?â You heard your daughterâs voice. âDaddy home?!â
âIâm home sweetheart!.â
âDaddy!!â You heard her feet hit the floor before pounding up the hall at top speed. He chuckled as her body slammed against his leg. âYou have booboo too daddy?â
âJust on my arm, you wanna help heal it up for me?â She nodded before running off to get more band-aids and her little doctors kit.
âI hope she does grow up to be a doctor, we could use one in the family.â Dean mused from the doorway to the living room.
You smiled. âOh, I have a gift for you, actually. You came home at the perfect time.â You moved back past Dean to pull something out of your purse and then handed it to Sam.
He unfolded the smooth paper and for a moment, his face was expressionless as he looked down. But when his eyes hit you again, there was so much love and adoration. âWeâre⊠Another one? But..â He looked back down. âHow long?â
â17 weeks, actually.â
He looked up. âYou didnât tell me?!â
You shook your head. âI was hoping to surprise you with better news.â
âWhat could better than this?â He grinned.
âThatâs your son.â You chuckled.
Dean grinned at how Samâs face lit up. âAnd the Legacy continues.â

A/N : what I wish would happen if I got off my ass and went running haha.
Part 1 of âWho Are Youâ.
Running, not really your thing. Especially not in public. Yoga, Zumba, hell even biking, all in the comfort of your own home. That was more your thing. Not running. Running got you winded and fast. Plus people stared, since you werenât exactly what most people called fit. But a treadmill wasnât something you could afford right now, and you needed to keep pushing.
So here you were, disgustingly early in the morning, moving along a bike path hoping to not see too many people. You were panting, and walking having jogged as long as you could before taking a walking break. Enjoying the view of the river the path followed.
You heard someone coming up behind you fast, and moved more to the side. As he ran past you, you couldnât help but stare. This morning run thing really does have a good view, you thought to yourself as you watched his sweaty back run ahead. Sighing, you shook your head. Youâd never get his attention. Not with how you still jiggled when you ran. But you still smiled to yourself. You were happy with your body. Not thin and ripped, but it was strong and soft.
It was about 20 minutes later when you jogged into a small rest stop by a park. Bathrooms, fountains and benches were off to the side of an empty playground. And he was there. His large muscular frame bent over drinking from the water fountain. As you waited for your turn, you couldnât help but stare at him. God, he was beautiful covered in sweat. He stood and turned, catching you staring.
âUhm.. Morning.â You smiled awkwardly.
He gave you a sweet smile, âGood morning.â before he popped his headphones back in and started back the way you had come.
Oh god he has dimples too. You watched him run off before stepping up to the fountain and filling your water bottle. You took a 5 minute break on a bench and decided maybe early morning runs werenât so bad. Smiling to yourself, you got up and started your jog back home.
The next morning, again you heard someone coming up behind you as you slowed to a walk, and you moved to the side. âMorning.â He said as he ran past.
You stared at him surprised as you watched him run ahead. Did he- did he just talk to me?
You reached the park and again he was at the fountain. When he turned and smiled at you again, you almost blushed. âGood morning.â you said softly. He gave you a nod before putting his head phones back in and running off again.
The next day it rained, so you biked at home instead, but the day after, you were jogging when he ran past. You heard him coming, and started to feel really self conscious and began to slow. âDonât quit, keep it up.â He smiled as he ran past.
This time when you got to the park, a few minutes earlier since you had pushed yourself to jog longer after seeing him, he wasnât there. You looked around confused before going to the fountain. Â You just sat on the bench when he came from the other side, having ran past the park and then turned back.
He stopped for his drink, and smiled, giving you a wink before running off again. You smiled before getting up and heading back yourself.
You didnât see him for about a week. You were drinking at the fountain after filling your bottle when you felt someone behind you. âYouâre getting too quick for me.â Came the deep voice you had started to miss.
You turned, and he was behind you, a thin layer of sweat covering him. âHardly.â
He chuckled. âYou got here before me today. I saw you as I was about to run past.â You moved and let him get a drink. âYouâre doing good.â He smiled before heading off again.
You blushed and he turned back to smile at you again before he was gone.
You were getting better, jogging longer. Â "Doing good sweetheart.â He grinned going past you the next day. And everyday for a week heâd flash you his toothy smile and dimples, saying something encouraging as he ran past.
Then he was gone again.
Four days after you stopped seeing him, he dropped onto the bench next to you, panting. "Iâm going to have to start leaving earlier if I want to run past you every day still.â He teased.
You smiled and looked over at him. He had a few bruises and cuts that were visible. âWhat happened to you? Are you okay?â
He chuckled. âIâm good. Donât worry about it, just a fight.â
âLet me guess, I should see the other guy?â
He laughed. âOh yeah. Heâs pretty beat up too.â
You shook our head at him. And looked out over the empty park, the cool morning air filling your lungs. âDo you run like this every day?â You glanced at him.
âMost days.â He shrugged. âWhy?â
You shrugged back. âI see you a lot. Then you kind of just disappear for a while.â
He smiled at that. âSo, someone would notice and worry if I went missing.â
You looked at him surprised. âWouldnât a lot of people? Like a wife, or girlfriend or something?â
He chuckled. âNope. Donât have either of those.â He looked at you. âOh, by the way, Iâm Sam.â
You stared at him, not realizing he held his hand out. His eyebrows raised and you snapped out of it, giving him your hand. âY/N.â How could he not have a girlfriend at least? He was nice, good looking.. oh my god was he a serial killer or something? Those guys tend to be charming as shit, thatâs how they get their victims. âWhy- uhm. How is it you donât have a girlfriend, or.. something?â
He shrugged. âLike you said, I disappear a lot. Work, it has me traveling too much. I have a few friends here and there, but itâs mostly just me and my brother. We work together. So just you and him would notice if I disappeared.â He teased and nudged you. âSpeaking of, I better get back before he reports me missing.â He chuckled and got up.
âHave a good one.â You smiled as he headed off.
He stopped and turned. âHey, how about next time I run into you, we head for the coffee shop a block over?â
You smiled. âIâd like that.â

A/N : Not my best, I wrote it while feeling shitty about myself. I still feel pretty shitty.
Part 2 of âWho Are Youâ.
Your excitement over Sam wanting to have coffee with you slowly turned to disappointment as the days dragged on without seeing him. Once two weeks had passed, you figured he wasnât really that interested. You tried to not let it get to you, but it did. You felt like you werenât good enough as you were. You started feeling like you needed to be thinner, hotter. You started wearing baggier clothes when you went out to exercise. Like today, you were wearing yoga pants, and a hoodie that was two sizes too big.
You were lost in thought as you walked along the path you normally ran, and barely registered someone coming up behind you. âHey!!â You turned just as a hand came to rest on your shoulder. âHey. Iâve been calling out to you.â He smiled.
âSam?â
âYeah. Feeling some coffee today?â You furrowed your brow, confused. âI said Iâd take you next time I saw you, remember..â
âYeah.. Sam that was over a month ago.â
âAnd? Itâs cool out today. Isnât this a perfect coffee day?â He smiled hopefully.
âI figured you werenât that interested..â
He laughed. âWhy would you think that? I asked, didnât I?â
âWhen a guy asks to take me out, then disappears, I sort of equate it to âIâll call youâ. You know, the call that never comes. Sam, I havenât seen you in over a month.â
âYou didnât report me missing, did you?â
âNo, like I said, I just figured you werenât interested.â You started to walk along the path again, leaving him there.
âHey!â He easily caught up. âGive me your number.â
âWhat?â You stopped and turned.
He fished his phone out of his sweater pocket and held it out. âYour number. Next time I offer to take you out, but get caught up with work, Iâll at least be able to call. Trust me, Iâm interested.â He smiled again, dimples popping.
âWhy?â
His smile faltered. âWhy am I interested?â You nodded. âWhy wouldnât I be?â
âI need to lose about 200 pounds to even be close to your league buddy.â You chuckled softly. There is was, your self deprecation, welcome back old friend.
âDid I come across that shallow?â He looked almost hurt. âI didnât mean for it to take so long before I saw you again, I got caught up working..â His brows knit. âDo you really see yourself like that?â You shrugged. âPut your number in my phone, Y/n.â
You were a bit shocked he remembered your name as you took his phone and added your number. Once you were done, he took his phone, and dialed. Your phone in your hoodie pocket rang, and you pulled it out and checked it. âAnd now you have my number.â He smiled.
âYou donât need to call me Sam. Or-â
âWeâre getting that coffee, now. Unless youâre busy.. Are you busy?â You shook your head. âGood. Weâre going for that coffee then.â His smile was back. âAnd maybe some muffins? I could go for a muffin.â
âSam-â
âAnd next time I see you, weâre doing coffee again.â He cut you off. âAnd maybe one day Iâll get lucky, and youâll let me take you to dinner when I have down time.â He smiled as he started walking off the path towards the street.
âSam! Shouldnât you finish your run first? I can wait!â
He turned a few feet away, Â and grinned. âI didnât need a run today. I just came out hoping to run into you.â

Part 5 of the âWho Are Youâ Series.
You stood there, crying against the car and shaking for a while, Sam never letting you go. âPlease, just come talk to Dean. I promise, no one will hurt you. Just let us explain.â
You squeezed your eyes shut, your forehead against the cold metal of the car. Reluctantly, you let him guide you away from it, and towards the large, heavy metal door. The closer you got to it, the more scared you were. If you had looked up at Sam, you would have seen how much that hurt him.
Dean was in the kitchen making something to eat after having cleaned all the blood off himself. He had needed a couple stitches on his leg, but his arm wasnât as bad as it had looked. Still hurt like a bitch though.
He froze when he heard the bunker door open. He had dropped Sam off not long ago, and he wasnât expecting Cas. Putting the spatula down, he headed for the war room and the bag of guns he had left on the table when he came in. Grabbing a gun out of the bag, he aimed it up at the balcony.
âDean?â He heard his brother calling out.
He furrowed his brow. âSammy? Whatâs going on?â As Sam came into view, Dean lowered the gun. He watched as his brother turned to look behind him, and he almost raised the gun again when he saw you come into view. âWhy is she here, Sam?â
âShe knows, Dean. The questions you thought I could avoid by you getting your ass handed to you, they came up.â
âSon of a bitch.â Dean grumbled. âAlright, come on in. Iâm cooking, so youâre eating.â Dean walked off, tossing his gun back into the bag as he went past it.
âCome on.â Sam started down the stairs, and you quietly followed a few feet behind him.
You wearily looked at the bags by the table. Two on the floor, and the opened one on the table that you had seen Dean toss a gun into. Glancing in wearily, you spotted more guns and knives than you had ever seen in one place before. You were starting to panic again. Part of you wanted to cling to Sam, be in the safety of his arms, but it was him you were afraid of now. Him and his brother, who had always made you feel safe, loved and worth something.
As you followed Sam up a hall, you could smell what Dean was cooking, and your mouth watered. Thatâs when it hit you that you hadnât eaten since breakfast. You were starving, but not. The fear curbing your appetite. Suddenly, Sam wasnât in front of you anymore.
âSo, how much does she know?â You heard Dean asking, and followed his voice, turning into a kitchen just as Sam sat down at the table.
âNot much, really..â He glanced at you when you walked in. âShe found the box.â
âWhat box?â
âThe ID box. Credit cards, all of it. She had sent me a text asking who I was, thatâs why I told you to haul ass home.â
âI told you to leave it in my car, or here.â He glanced back at Sam. âEverything else is here. I donât know why those werenât.â
âI donât knowâŠâ Sam shrugged. âSome are here. I just kinda toss them in a box when Iâm done. Sometimes I forget to empty my pockets before I head home.â
âAt least he ainât cheating on you, right sweetheart?â Dean turned to you with a smile, but you just watched him, like you were waiting for him to attack.
âSheâs terrified of me, Dean.â Sam ran his hand over his face. âMy wife is fucking terrified of me. Look at her! Iâve never given her a reason to be scared of me. Never. She saw the video, Dean.â
âWhat video?â He turned to Sam.
âLeviathans. California News, years back.â
âFuckâŠâ This time when Dean looked at you, there was understanding. âNo wonder sheâs scaredâŠâ
âW-whatâs leviathans?â You asked softly.
Dean let out a breath. âSit, sweetheart. Trust me, youâll want to.â You glanced at the table, unsure. âPlus, you look like you havenât eaten. We havenât eaten yet, since I hauled ass home right after the job, so I need a beer and food. Sammy looks like I should be busting out the whiskey..â
You glanced at Sam, finally, and could see what Dean meant. Sam looked horrible. Slowly, you moved to sit across from Sam. He didnât look up at you, he just stared at the table. No one said a word again until Dean put plates of food in front of everyone. âWhat happened to you?â You asked softly. As scared of them as you were, youâd noticed Deanâs slight limp, and the gash up his arm.
âPerks of the job. I take all the heat, so Sammy gets home to you in one piece.â He picked up his burger and took a bite.
âDean almost died today..â
Dean put his burger down, and swallowed. âI didnât âalmost dieâ.â He grumbled. âStop overreacting.â
âIs anyone going to start explaining?â You still hadnât touched anything on your plate.
âMm..â Dean grabbed his burger, took a bite then got up as he put it down. âBeer?â He asked, and you shook your head. He licked his fingers after he swallowed. âEat, sweetheart. You too, Sammy.â He put a bottle of water in front of you, then grabbed beers for him and Sam. He sat down, opened his beer and took a swig. âWeâre hunters, sweetheart.â
âSo, what, you got wrecked by bambi tonight?â
Dean laughed. âI fucking wish. That would have gone a lot smoother. No, not that kinda hunter.â
âWhat other kind of hunter is there?â
âThe Supernatural kind.â Sam answered quietly. Your eyes shifted to him, but he was still looking down at the table. He hadnât touched his food, or the beer. âGhosts, vampires, werewolves, demons and angels.. Itâs all real. Itâs what we do. We hunt anything supernatural that hurts people, shit normal law enforcement canât handle. Thatâs why we have all the fake badges. Itâs how we get the information we need to do the job right.â
âWe donât get paid, and we rarely get thanked.â Dean chimed in. âHence the credit cards. Itâs why I live here. No rent.â Dean smiled. âPlus, safest place around. And all the information ever collected on what we hunt is all right here.â
âWhat is this place?â
âMen of Letterâs bunker. Weâre Legacies.â Dean bragged.
âLegacy thatâll die with us..â Sam glanced up at you. âUnless Dean here has been less than careful.â
âNever.â He shook his head. âIâm not bringing any kids into this life. We were raised in it, weâre a fucking mess.â
âI thought you wanted a familyâŠâ You were looking at Sam.
âI did. But I pretty much fucked that up, havenât I.â He sighed. âYouâre afraid of me. You barely look at me. That kinda puts kids out of the question. Iâm honestly just waiting for you to tell me to bring you back home and you never want to see me again.â
You swallowed. âItâs your house, Sam.â
âItâs yours.â He told you softly.
You looked confused. âWe bought that house for you.â Dean told you. âSam lived here with me until I realized how serious it was getting between you two. We figured it out, got him a place and he asked you to move in.â
âI thought you lived there the whole time..â
âNope. I only moved in a few weeks before you.â He gave you a soft smile. âI wanted to give you everything I could. Youâre everything to me.â

Part 6 of the âWho Are You?â Series.
The fact that Sam would buy a house just so you could move in with him, didnât really surprise you. Not when you thought about it. Sam had always done anything to make you happy. You sniffled. âYouâre really Sam. Sam Winchester. And Deanâs really your brother?â Sam nodded. âAnd youâre not really serial killers?â
âWell I suppose by some standards-â Dean was cut off by Sam smacking him in back of the head.
âDonât fucking joke about that Dean! Sheâs scared enough!â
Dean looked at you, you still hadnât touched any food, or the water. Your hands were in your lap, and he knew you were clutching at your legs, scraping your nails on the material of your jeans. âWe donât kill people.â Dean answered softly. âGo look around for a bit. It might help you better understand. You went past the library on your way in, thereâs books in there on everything weâve ever hunted. Thereâs also an Archive room.. Take a look around, relax.â
Nodding you got up and walked slowly out of the room. âWhat do I do, Dean.â Sam sighed once you were out of the room. âI love her, sheâs my whole world, and sheâs terrified of me. What do I do?â
You had heard the sadness in Samâs voice. And didnât miss it in Deanâs either. âGive her time, Sammy. This isnât the life you wanted for her, you wanted her safe. If this is the end⊠at least sheâll be safe.â Closing your eyes for a moment, and wiping the tears off your cheek, you started up the hall, not knowing where you were going.
You walked aimlessly for a bit, not really looking into rooms since most doors were closed. Eventually though, you stopped in front of an open one. It was a bedroom, lived in, so you figured it must be Deans. It wasnât much, almost military like, more than homey.
His bed was made, there were things on the self behind it and guns and knives on the wall. Closing your eyes, you could smell Dean in there. And the smell was starting to make sense. You could finally put your finger on what it was. You had always thought it was some kind of cologne, it had that almost smoky whiskey and leather smell, but there was a hint of something else you couldnât figure out. A smell that wasnât familiar to you at all, but now that you saw his room, the things in it and could smell it, you knew. Gun powder.
âYou alright?â
You turned and saw Dean coming up the hall. You shrugged. âHonestly, I donât know.â
He gave you a soft smile. âWe understand, you know. As hurt as he is right now, Sammy understands. This isnât what you signed up for. And Iâm sorry we hid all this from you, but we did what we had to. I always made sure Sam got home safe to you.â You looked back into his room. âHang on.â He head in, and came back out with a brown leather bound book. âHere.â He held it out.
âWhatâs this?â You asked taking it from him gently.
âOur Dadâs journal. How this all started for us. Just⊠be careful with it? Please. I donât let anyone touch it ever.â You looked up at him. âThatâs how much you mean to him. Come on, Iâll show you to Samâs room. And Iâll put your burger aside for after. You need to eat, sweetheart.â
Entering Samâs room, there was no denying it was his. You smiled softly at how organized everything was. Typical Sam, everything in itâs place. You looked around a bit, fingers running over the flannel shirt left on a chair as you looked at the books and notes he had in the room. Slowly, you made your way to his bed.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, you looked down at the book in your hand as your fingers ran over the leather. Taking a deep breath you opened it. On the inside cover, you found a picture of a man in uniform, pins and medals. Bronze star, Purple heart, even a Vietnam service medal among them. Military dad. Sam and Dean just made a bit more sense to you.
You kicked off your shoes shifting back a bit and crossing your legs as you read. Your heart breaking as you read their fatherâs words after the death of their mother. A couple page in, you heard a bag hit the floor. Looking over you saw Sam. âSorry, Just putting my bag away. I didnât mean to-â
âShe really died in a fire?â Sam nodded sadly. You looked down at the journal. âHe took it hard.â
âSo did Dean.â He said softly. âI was too young. I wanted nothing to do with the family business, I wanted a normal life.â
âWhy did you get back into it? If you went to college and got out. Why go back to something you hate?â
He sighed. âMom wasnât the only one who died that way. My college girlfriend, Jess. She-â He sighed. âShe died the same way as mom. I found her, I was there when it happened. I saw it. I became like dad⊠I needed to hunt.â
âIâm sorryâŠâ Sam shook his head softly, and gave you a half smile. âDid your dad really die to save Dean?â
Sam nodded. âJust.. probably not how you think. He gave up his soul for Dean. Made a deal. Dean was pissed, Dad also gave up the one way of killing what killed mom and Jess. But we got him.â Sam smiled. âWe finished Dadâs mission. After that.. We were all we had. It was me, Dean and the hunt.â He shrugged. âSaving people, hunting things⊠Itâs the family business. I canât just walk away and let people die. Not when I can help. But Iâm not reckless, baby. I know my limits, and I always came home to you.â
âYou should have told meâŠâ
He chuckled softly for the first time all day. âYou would have thought I was insane. Would you have even married me? Or moved in?â
âI should have been given that choice, Sam.â Your heart felt broken. âIâm scared. Iâm worse than scared.â His face fell. âI fell in love with you. Not your past, not your job, you. The sweet guy I met at ungodly hours of the morning who looked damn good covered in sweat as he ran. Who I thought must be too good to be true because he smiled at me. Me! Years, Sam. You had years to tell me. Do you know what it feels like, to find out that the last few years, everything you thought was true, was a lie?â
âI-â
âI know, you never outright lied to me. But imagine how I felt finding that box, Sam. That video. You didnât even warn me that Dean lived underground. You said âDeanâs houseâ then brought me to a fucking bunker and didnât understand my fear and panic⊠I thought I was going to die.â Tears ran down your cheek again.
âIâd never hurt you, sweetheart. You know that.â He stopped himself from pointing out that he had never said âDeanâs houseâ. Simple âDeanâsâ. But he knew that wouldnât help the situation at all.
âThe man I thought I married would never hurt me. But I donât know you.â

Part 3 of the âWho Are Youâ Â series.
You remembered the memories like they were yesterday.Â
Sitting in the coffee shop with Sam that first time. How women would turn every time he laughed, but he never once even glanced at them. His focus was fully on you. How you both sat there, losing track of time as you started with coffee and muffins, and it easily turned to an early lunch. He made you feel good about yourself so effortlessly. Even as you sat there wearing an old, massive hoodie that all but hid you from the world, he made you feel attractive.Â
How your face lit up the first time he asked you to dinner. You had run into him on your run, and you happily agreed. Texting back and forth the next two days, trying to convince him to tell you what he had planned, but he refused saying it was a surprise. The night before the date, he called apologizing. Something came up with work and he had to run off, but swore up and down heâd call as soon as he was home again.
Three days after hearing from him, there was a knock at your door, and there stood Sam, smile on his face, dressed in a suit, and flowers in his hands. âStill want to do dinner with me? It wonât be the big date I had planned⊠but, I promise itâll be good.â
You smiled and nodded letting him in and taking the flowers. âYou look good dressed like that, by the way.â
âYeah?â He grinned, âI clean up nice, huh?â
âVery.â You smiled before going to put the flowers in some water. âIâd need to get ready though Sam, I wasnât expecting you.â
âIâm not in a rush.â He smiled when you walked back into the room. âI have all night for you. Take your time.â
The first night he spent with you had been beautiful. You had been nervous, scared. He was beautiful, hard and muscular. You were soft everywhere, rolls and imperfections. But Sam worshiped them all. He made you feel like you were the most beautiful thing ever created. Delicate, and perfect. No one had ever done that for you before. Nothing he did that first time was for him, it was all about showing you just how he saw you.
When you wanted more, when you needed more, he refused until you admitted how beautiful you were. Then he grinned down at you and gave you everything you wanted. Every bit of him as hard or fast as you needed. Your nails digging into his back, and biceps as you cried out his name again and again. And when you were both spent, and panting, it was back to the tenderness he had shown you earlier. âI want to see you more.â He said softly, as your head rest on his chest. âI want to hold you more. I want you to be mine.â
âIâll gladly be yours, Sam.â
Moving in with Sam had been an adventure and a half. You finally got to meet his brother as he helped you move your things into a beautiful two story house. As far as you knew, this was where Sam lived all along. And now you shared it. You had been together for 6 months and still had no idea what he and his brother did, but you didnât really care. You were madly in love with him.
You liked Dean. He was fun, always smiling and joking. His laugh and smile as infectious as his brothers. He brought plenty of beer, and pizza with him for the move. And before leaving that night, he hugged you. âYouâre good for him, sweetheart. Iâm real glad he found you.â
âThanks, Dean.â You blushed. âIâm real glad I found him too.â
After Sam treated you like a goddess that night, he held you tight. âWelcome home, sweetheart.â He smiled.
You smiled and cuddled in closer. âIâve been home all along, Sam. Youâre my home.â
Walking down the aisle and seeing him there, waiting for you. God, he was handsome in a suit. As you got closer, you would see him tearing up, his brother giving him a pat on the back. It was a small wedding, neither of you had a lot of family, and you didnât need anything fancy. You just wanted to be Mrs Sam Winchester. You knew it was soon, youâd only known him about a year, but you knew he was it. He was the one.
Everything after he laced his fingers with yours was a blur. You repeated the vows on autopilot, more focused on the man standing next to you than anything. But when he leaned down to kiss you, thatâs when it hit. You were married, to the most amazing man you had ever met in your life. You truly were his, and he was yours. This wasnât a dream, or a fantasy, this was real.
When the kiss broke, you stared up at him and he smiled. A smile youâve seen a thousand times, and would see a thousand times more, and still melt at the sight of it. âI love you, Y/N Winchester.â
That was two years ago. The wedding, the happiest day of your life. Only two short years and then it was all being ripped away. You wiped the tears off your cheek as you sat on the bed you shared with your husband, and looked down at the box in your lap.

Part 4 of the âWho Are Youâ Series.
Wiping your cheeks, you pulled out your phone to send a text.
Who are you?
âYou need to stop doing that Dean!â Sam tossed the weapons into the trunk.
âDoing what?â Dean tossed his in as well.
âYou know what.â Sam ground out as he slammed the trunk and turned to his beat up and blood covered brother.
âSo now youâre pissed that Iâm keeping you alive for that pretty little wife of yours? Come on, Sammy. You canât go home looking like this, sheâd lose it and start asking questions.â
âYeah, well you donât need to almost die doing it, Dean.â He grumbled and started to walk away. Dean rolled his eyes, wincing at the pain in his arm and leg. Â Sam pulled open the passenger door and sat down, pulling out his phone having heard it chime. Furrowing his brow he re-read the text.
Itâs me, sweetheart. Whatâs going on.
He waited for a response, getting worried.
But who are you?
âDean..â Sam called out.
Dean opened the driver side door and got in. âYeah, yeah, stop being reckless in trying to keep you alive. At least we killed em.â
âNo, Dean.. Somethingâs wrong, we need to get home. Now!â
âShit. Alright.â Dean started Baby up, and tore out of there.
âBabe!?â You heard Sam call out as he rushed in the front door hours later. âHoney, whatâs wrong? Where are you!?â
You heard his boots on the stairs after he went through the house. The door opened and he froze, seeing you on the bed. You looked up at him, tears starting up again. He looked at the small box next to you, itâs contents spilled out on the bed. He was a bit relieved to see you had only found the handgun that had been inside the box. That meant the others were still well hidden.
âWho are you really?â You asked quietly. âWho did I marry?â
His eyes met yours. âSweetheart..â He took a step closer but stopped when he saw you pull away from him.
âDonât. What do you do? Weâve been married for years, and I have no idea what you do.â You picked up a card. âFBI?â Grabbed another. âCDC?â Another. âJournalist?â You shifted through a few more. âPark ranger? Wildlife services? And whatâs your name? Your real name!? Dozens of credit cards here, all with different names. Who did I marry!?â
He licked his lips, his shoulders slumped, and he had pain written all over his face. âI-â He sighed and spotted his old Stanford ID. He picked it up and held it to you. âThis is me. The real me. Samuel Winchester, born May 2nd, 1983. I did go to Stanford, I was prelaw with a full ride. I never lied to you sweetheart. Never. I just-â
âDidnât tell me the truth. Not all of it. I donât know who you are. How do I know youâre telling me the truth now? They all have your picture Sam. Different names. Are you a criminal? Youâre obviously fond of credit card fraud, and identity theft..â
He shook his head. âIâll explain everything.. Please..â
âStart with that.â You sniffled and pointed to the laptop sitting on the dresser.
Turning, Sam didnât need to hit play to know what he was looking at. A video from the news, years ago, that looked like him and Dean were killing people in a bank. âThat wasnât me.. It wasnât us I swear to you.â He looked back at you, tears welling in his eyes. âPlease.â You shook your head. âPlease. Come with me. Iâll show you, explain to you, everything about me. Everything I tried to keep hidden. Please.â He was begging.
âIâm scared, SamâŠâ
âPlease, just one last time, trust me.â
âI trusted you for years.. And it turned out I didnât know you at all.â
âI canât explain this to you by myself. Weâll go to Deanâs. Please.â
His heart was breaking as he drove. You wouldnât look at him, wouldnât talk to him. But he couldnât blame you. He just kept his eyes on the road as he drove to the bunker. Once he pulled to a stop outside, he sighed at how fast you got out of the car, just to be away from him. Licking his lips, he got out. âCome on.â He started for the door.
You took a few steps following him, then finally you looked around. There was nothing there, just a big door that seemed to lead underground. You stopped dead, panic starting to take over. He said he was taking you to Deanâs house, where the hell were you?
He turned when he realized you werenât following him anymore. âSweetheart?â You shook your head and backed away, regretting getting out of the car. âHey, hey, itâs okay, baby. I swear itâs okay.â
You shook your head and started crying, as you grabbed at the passenger door handle. You were terrified, screaming and crying as his arms went around you. âPlease!â You begged, still fighting with the locked car door.
âIâm not going to hurt you. Baby, I love you. Please.â It killed him that you were so afraid of him. âI love you.â He held you tight and you felt a tear drop onto the top of your head. âIâd never hurt you. Please. This is where Dean lives. This is why he always comes to our house, and youâve never seen his. He lives here. Please, just come inside. Let us explain. If you want to leave after, Iâll take you anywhere and youâll never see me again if thatâs what you want. Just, let me try.â

A/N : Jumps from present, to past, and then back again.
Opening the front door to the modest two floor home, Dean moved as silently as possible. He applied every bit of stealth he had ever learned as a hunter into getting himself up the stairs to the second floor without being detected. If he was caught, this was all over. The shittiest day of his life would get so much worse. What he did now, was harder than any job, any case, hell, anything he had ever done before and it was killing him.
He hit the second floor landing and looked up the hall. He could hear her. She was singing. He closed his eyes and silently made his way towards her. As soon as he laid eyes on her, his brothers voice rang out in his head. âYou have a decision to make Dean. Make it fast before I make it for you.â
Sam going to the pit had been the hardest thing Dean had ever had to deal with. Suddenly, he was alone. Dean had never really been alone before, he was lost. He wandered around, case to case throwing himself in so haphazardly, not really caring if he made it out. If he died, well, he had friends on the other side. Family.
Then he had run into Lisa again. He gave that a try. A new family. He threw himself into that completely, Lisa, the woman he loved, and Ben, a son he was positive was his even though she said he wasnât. But that didnât last either. Samâs death had changed him too much. He was so busy looking around the corner for the next shoe to drop that he was ruining it before it even really started. One night, he just left.
And one morning, Dean wasnât even sure when, he woke up next to her. He honestly couldnât remember her name, or what city or town he was even in. He didnât care. Everything was a drunken haze of debauchery the last few weeks, until he looked over at her.
The sheet hugged her curves so perfectly as she softly breathed next to him. Her back was to him, her soft, ample ass against his thigh. Her hair spread out over the pillow space between the two of them. He just looked at her, watched her, even though he couldnât see much of her face. She was different from what he was use to waking up next to. Very different. Bits and pieces came back to him from the night before, her laugh, her smile. Suddenly, Dean realized he really wanted a cup of coffee.
He stood in the kitchen in just jeans when he heard her stirring. As she made her way out to him, his breath caught in his throat. She had grabbed the closest shirt, his shirt. The flannel button up was too long in the arms which made him smile. It just covered her ass in the back, but barely reached her thighs in the front as it covered those curves he remembered enjoying all night. Her hair was a mess and pulled to one side, hanging over her right shoulder. âI hope you donât mind.â He held up his cup of coffee. She smiled and shook her head. âI wasnât sure how you took yours, but now that youâre up, you hungry?â His face lit up as she smiled at him again and nodded. Dean never wanted to leave.
Little did Dean know, Sam had come back. Sam was there when Dean finally walked out of her house two days later, a huge grin on his face. He watched as Dean stopped, turned back and pulled her in for a deep kiss. A small part of Sam wanted to be happy his brother might have finally found something worth holding on to. So Sam left him to believe he was still dead, but he never really left his brothers life.
Sam watched from across the street as Dean took her out for dinner a week later. They sat at a window table in a nice restaurant. Sam was oddly surprised by it. He watched his older brother try so hard with this girl. Dean hadnât even put this much effort into what heâd had with Lisa.
Sam was also in the park the day Dean proposed. He followed behind as his brother nervously walked and talked with the girl. Running his fingers through his hair so often Sam was sure Dean would go bald. He was glad Dean had gotten a bit rusty when it came to hunting, and his senses. Dean should have easily spotted him but didnât. He watched the girl stop Dean from running his fingers through his hair again, saw her worried face looking up at Dean and ask him something. Likely what was wrong. He watched his brother get down on his knee and propose. Then he watched her light up, the most beautiful smile heâd ever seen as she said yes and clung to Dean. Sam mumbled a curse and walked away.
Sam then ran into her a few times. Always at random, or at least it would seem to her. She had no idea who he was, but she was always polite, always smiling and happy. It was almost calming. For the most part, he was emotionless, but there was something about her. He could see why Dean stayed those first few nights.
He was also there when his brother got married. Well, near by. He stood a block away, leaning on a Dodge Charger, an older man standing with him as they watched Dean step out, his new bride on his arm and a huge smile on his face. âJust talk to your brother already, Sam.â
âAnd say what? Iâve been alive all this time, hunting with family you never knew we had?â He glanced at the older man. âPS, I wanna fuck your new wife?â
âDonât be vulgar, Samuel.â The older man glared and Sam rolled his eyes. âDonât roll your eyes at me either, boy.â
âJust get back to your damn Alpha hunt, grandpa.â Sam growled at him before pushing off from his car and moving around to the driver seat, getting in, and driving off leaving the older man behind.
Sam was even there the day Dean and his wife brought home their newborn. A daughter. He went by from time to time, catching a glimpse here and there into his nieceâs life as she grew. Like when she splashed in a tiny baby pool while Dean washed the Impala one summer afternoon. She must have only been about 7 months old. He saw how Dean looked at his daughter and wife, paying more attention to them than he did to his car.
Then one day, Sam let himself be seen by Dean. It started off with a fight. A fight to be sure that Sam was really Sam. Then it was hugs and catching up. Dean told his wife he was visiting an old friend for a weekend, apparently sheâd heard of Bobby and didnât mind. Even baked pies for Dean to bring to share with the older man. Then came more fighting as Dean realized he had been out of the loop at just how long Sam had been back.
Dean never mentioned Sam being alive to his wife. He had told her Sam was dead, how would he explain this? Sam didnât mind, because then heâd have to explain how heâd been talking to her for the last two years, at least.
Dean was quickly noticing his brother wasnât quite his brother anymore. It was a nagging feeling at first. One that was confirmed as he spent more time with Sam. Watching him. Getting to know this âfamilyâ he had been hunting with. He had a bad feeling about Samuel Campbell too, but Sam wouldnât listen.
Dean listened though. He listened to what Sam said, what he didnât say. He watched how his brother was treating women. The same brother who had always been sweetness and puppy dog eyes, was now the âtake what I want and not give a shitâ kinda guy they had always hated. Heâd heard stories, heâd seen it first hand. And then, it was directed at him and panic set in. For the first time in his life, Dean was afraid of his baby brother.
âI want her, Dean.â
âWho?â
âYour pretty little wife.â Dean clenched his jaw at that, and Sam laughed. âCome on, didnât mom ever teach you to share?â Dean growled. âRight, sorry, mom didnât get to teach us much, did she..â
âYou better shut the fuck up, Sam.â
âI always get what I want, Dean. Youâve noticed that by now. I know you have.â
âNot her.â Dean was ready to start swinging. âYouâll never fucking have her.â
âWell, you better stop me.â Sam chuckled. âYou have some choices. You can come hunt full time again, lets you keep an eye on me. Or, I go fuck your wife good, and introduce myself to my niece.â He smiled, and Dean paled. âOh donât give me that look. I wouldnât hurt her, Dean. Iâm not a monster. I adore her. But how long until you fuck it all up, huh? Youâre half out the door already, so does it really matter? Decisions yours.â
Dean watched as the love of his life was singing his daughter to sleep, your back to him. What did he do? Even though Sam wasnât Sam anymore, he was still Deanâs brother, the little brother he raised, and did anything and everything for his whole life. The brother he was conditioned to protect above all else, including himself.
He figured he could just tell you. Tell you about Sam, about everything else. Admit to the lies heâd had to tell you about who he had been before meeting you. But would you then doubt everything else heâd said? Would you hate him? If that rift started, Sam would jump in. Heâd try and take you from him.
He could never just let Sam have you. Not that he believed you would let Sam near you. Not that he believed he owned you and could make that decision for you. Just that heâd rather kill his brother and re-live that pain than let him touch you. You and the daughter you shared were the two most precious things in the world to him.
He could leave. He looked down at the ring on his finger and turned it using his thumb. He could disappear into the night like he had on Lisa. Vanish without a word, without a trace. He knew what that would do to you. It would destroy you, youâd have everyone looking for him. Youâd be terrified but he knew you were strong. You were strong enough to survive it, Â strong enough to raise his daughter.
Dean closed his eyes, trying to burn the sight of you both into his memories one last time before he turned and walked away.
Hearing the front door, you turned. âDean?â You called out gently, trying not to wake your daughter who had just fallen asleep.
You made your way up the hall, and when you passed the bedroom, you saw open drawers out of the corner of your eye. You stopped, and looked into the room for a moment before heading in. His drawers werenât empty, but most of his stuff was gone. You rushed to the closet and found much the same. You turned, looking around the room, tears in your eyes as you started to panic. Thatâs when you saw the paper on the bed. Ring sitting on top. You picked it up as you heard the Impala roar to life in the driveway.
Your heart pounded in your chest as your feet pounded down the stairs. âDEAN!â You yelled as you ran out the front door. He glanced at you as he turned onto the street. âDEAN?! Pleaââ
You dropped to the ground, as he drove off without a second glance back. âWhy?â You whined to yourself. âWhat did I do?â Your shoulders shaking as you sobbed. You looked down at the paper in your hands. You cried there for a good five minutes before you opened it.
You cried there in the yard for what felt like ages. And then you heard a voice, a familiar one that you ran into from time to time. âHey, are you okay? Is something wrong?â
You looked up, and it was him. The tall guy with the shaggy hair that youâd run into at the supermarket, or cafe. Always nice, and sometimes offered to buy your coffee when you were having a rough morning. You shook your head. âEverything is wrong.â You told him gently as the tears started falling again. âAnd youâre being so kind to me again, and I canât remember your name. Iâm sorry.â
He knelt down, and lifted your chin up as he gave you a soft smile. âItâs okay. We pretty much only see each other in passing, I donât expect you to know my name. But itâs Sam. Come on, let me help you inside. Is this your house?â You nodded. âCome on.â He started to help you up. âLetâs get you back indoors. I had just bought some beer, if you need someone to talk to, Iâll open you one, and you can vent. Okay?â
He gave you a smile you had seen so many times from him. And every time you saw it, you realized how much it reminded you of Deanâs. You nodded. âA beer would be nice, Sam. Thank you.â You sniffled as you both made your way to the front door, Sam stopping to grab his case of beer that you hadnât noticed on your lawn until he picked it up. âYou know, you remind me a little of someoneâŠâ
