We moved in too quick from the fact that Spencer was about to literally drop his NYC trip with Trina just because of Ace MAYBE having chickenpox. I know he was heartbroken about having to do it, but it didn’t feel right to me that out of the two things, or in that case Ace or Trina , it was easy for him to pick Ace. They have been playing with this idea for a while now that he is has to choose one or the other as priority, and I hate that. They let him spend all his time with Ace, while Trina is only limited to moments, and while those moments are extremely special, she deserves more than just a moments in time in her relationship with him. She shouldn’t have to expect only weekend trips and then back to interrupted dates at home.
I definitely did not move on from that, and I think I called Spencer out for lowkey becoming as unreliable as a partner to Trina as Nik was as a father to him. Again, the issue is that Spencer cannot distinguish himself from demon spawn. He's obsessed with proving that he's better than Nik and one of his biggest hangups was that there was always something more important to Nik than him.
So reactionary ass Spencer's thought process is that he has to prioritize demon spawn, or else he's just like Nik. He's dead wrong but I'm trying to come at if from his perspective. Either way, it doesn't matter because Trina was right when she told him that nothing about his situation was sustainable and his refusal to listen to her is what's gonna lead to him getting caught off guard when narcissistic sociopath takes the first shot.
