Yeah, yeah, we're all tired of Marvel's shit, but I REALLY don't like the fact that I haven't seen a single SamCap coloring book. I haven't seen endcap displays of his toys at my local Target. I bought a case of Coke last week, and I didn't see his face on a single can in the soda aisle. Not on the Doritos, either--is Dorito Cap strictly a white thing? (And you just KNOW the lack of merch sales will be held against the character. Wah, wah, we didn't sell enough of the toys we didn't make ... guess nobody likes Black heroes.)

And the greatest annoyance of all, at least to me personally ... is that there's no fucking SamCap Build-A-Bear. Not even a little add-on onesie, let alone a custom bear. First Black Captain America, and I can't buy a bear of him for my girlfriend (who has cosplayed Sam for years and is literally saved in my phone as Samantha Wilson) to hug during his movie.

Lucky for me, I literally have an Etsy shop where I make custom bears, so I had all the supplies lying around to make her something special. Meet Captain Abearica, Wings Edition.

He's soft, he's snuggly, he's machine-washable, and his shield detaches. I made him originally as a one-off just for her, but now I'm gonna make an Etsy listing for him out of sheer pique, and I'm going to take better, non-rushed pictures of the first order I get. (I finished the original just before I left to meet my girlfriend for her birthday, so these pics were taken in a hurry. I didn't even have time to wrap him.) He's made of anti-pill fleece and stands about 16 or 17 inches tall, 11 to 12 inches seated.

I suppose this would be an ad if I had bothered to make the listing before writing it, but I saw an ad for the movie on YouTube just now and got mad all over again about the lack of SamBears. So here's the link to my shop, where the listing will be once I make it sometime in the next hour.
