I agree with this post entirely
I’m really hoping that Gohan’s at this exhibition fight to underscore the gravity of what’s to come with the upcoming tournament. I want Gohan to fail not only to encourage him to rise from the ashes as he does time and time again, but also to possibly show Goku and everyone else present who hasn’t realized yet exactly what they’re getting into. I want Gohan’s fight to be a catalyst because that’s what his fights always were in DBZ. Even when all he did was headbutt Raditz to try to save Goku at the start of DBZ, it was a catalyst for everything that happened in the Saiyan Saga.Â
That said, I’m not sure if we’ll get something like that or not since DBS tends to not dig as deep as DBZ did. I’m kind of hoping that this arc will dig deeper than previous arcs.
