He hoped something tragic hadn’t happened to her again that had her needing the kind of remedy that he had to offer..

He didn’t mind at all being on standby has her.. sexual healing.

He checked his phone to see that she’d texted her new address, and headed out.

She opened the door slowly, openly looking him up and down.

And so did she.

“Responding to a request for backup from the Los Angeles Pussy Department.”

Athena rolled her eyes, but stepped aside. “I can’t believe I’m still letting you in after that..”

Sal smiled as he walked in, taking note of the way that she inhaled as he walked by - breathing in his scent.

But instead of having her rockin’ bod being spread out for him, he saw.. instructions splayed out on the floor like an atlas from a 90s roadtrip. Screws, bolts, shitty tools.

“Athena.. Did you call me over for a different type of screw?”

She cleared her throat before explaining. “If I continue trying to put this bed together by myself, I’m going to wind up sleeping on the damn floor. And my ass is too old for that mess.”

“Your ass ain’t too old for anything in my experience,” Sal told her.

“While I appreciate that, what I would *really* appreciate is being able to get this thing together before bedtime.”

“You usually call me over to take you apart, not put bullshit together.”

“You help me build this bed, and I’ll let you fuck me on it. How bout that?”

Sal smirked. “Don’t you have two grown ass kids, and the entire 118 at your beck and call?”

She sighed heavily. “I’m trying to give the impression that I’m.. self-sufficient.”

“Nobody is, gorgeous.”

She huffed. “I know that, Deluca. But. I just don’t feel like being needy right now.”

Sal could’ve asked her why she didn’t mind feeling needy around him. But he already knew the answer to that. Their entire relationship - if you could call it that - was built around the foregone conclusion that they were needy as fuck.

Needy for affirmations, approval, attention, orgasms..

They both knew, accepted, and loved it.

It just hadn’t ever manifested in.. household chores?

“I was doing just fine,” she said, sounding frustrated. “But it’s just taking too long on my own.”

“If you’d told me, I could have brought my own tools at least.”

“You think your tools are better than Bobby’s?” she asked with a cocked eyebrow.

“I’m not touching that one,” Sal muttered. “You got his tools I can use?”

She left to retrieve them, and they got to work.
