So ppl will hear "you don't owe anyone anything" and they get SO ANGRY and interpret it in the least charitable manner like "um actually we DO owe other people things because WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY" and it's like you're not WRONG, it's just that advice wasn't meant in that way.

"Write/draw for yourself" is great advice for people who second guess themselves & worry too much about whether other ppl will like the stuff they're writing But ppl hear it and think it means "You shouldn't want any praise or audience ever, and if u do ur selfish!" NO! Not how it's intended!
