@saengjonja liked this post for a starter with Easthies. <3
Capturing that brimmed cap had been too easy. He had put up a little bit of a fight, resisting his capture with a couple of spells to defend himself, but someone who was as skilled in battle and who had caught countless witches that had dabbled in forbidden spells as Easthies, he immediately understood that this had to be part of a bigger scheme. No brimmed cap would ever let themselves be caught by a Knight Moralis, and no captive would ever be as cocky as the witch that was now staring at Easthies from where he was locked away behind bars.
Easthies did not understand why exactly the Three Wise thought it was clever to keep the witch imprisoned in the dungeon of the Great Hall, he was especially upset with Vinanna, she out of all people should know how important it was to keep their principles in order, to guide their world with the laws they had established after the pact. He had been trained to protect the world of witches, he would fight for it and give his life for it, so he failed to understand the hesitation in erasing this witchโs memories, but it was even worse that Easthies himself didnโt seem to be able to keep himself away from the prisoner.
He was the deputy captain of the Knights Moralis, it should be his job to write reports and oversee the training of the other witches on his team, but instead he found himself walking down the dark corridor towards the dungeon. Jae. That was the captured brimhatโs name, for all Easthies knew it could be a nickname, a fake name, not that it mattered in any way, it was only a matter of time until his memories would get erased and this man would be turned into a hapless outsider.
Then what was he doing here? Easthies fidgeted a little with one of the clasps he had worked into his hair, slightly tugging on it, using the slight pain on his scalp to keep himself grounded and concentrated. He was tired, when was the last time he had slept for more than two hours? He was in no condition to deal with the too confident imprisoned witch and yet here he was.
The gaze of his red eyes wandered over Jaeโs body and he pressed his lips into a thin line as he noticed that his skin was covered in all kinds of tattoos, signs and seals, all Easthies could see was skin covered in forbidden magic.
โYou disgust meโ, Easthies said with a voice that matched the dullness of his eyes and still he took a step towards the cell, his fingers itched with the need to draw forward his pennant, to erase this manโs memories himself if the Wise no longer had the courage to be as ruthless as the pact required. He knew they wanted to use Jae to find the hiding place of the brimmed caps, to have Jae tell them the names of his fellow brimhats, but Easthies couldnโt help but feel like the longer they kept Jae around the longer they played into the brimmed capโs schemes.
โWhat is it you are planning?โ, Easthies asked then, standing close enough that he could reach out a hand to touch Jae if they both remained in place, but he couldnโt think of anything that appalled him more than the hands of that witch anywhere near him.
โI know you let me capture you on purpose. Why?โ
