nobody told me about it so no, i wasn’t aware! but thank you for coming forward about it! the fact that you even sent me this message tells me your heart is in the right place. you took it down yourself (which you didn’t have to do) and came to me directly to tell me what happened i believe you when you say you came up with it on your own. 

feel free to put it back up if you like - i’d love to see it! as long as you give proper credit where it’s due, if you drew something you have the right to post it. and in this case if you came up with the idea yourself it’s not necessary to give me credit for an idea you had on your own (though since you caught the similarity i’d appreciate a link to space au if you feel like it! ;o)

Haha, yeah, that could be fun! :D I didn’t see them as too far apart from each other on the social lattice (hehe), but Sam’s parents are pretty influential and protective, so that’s the main reason. Family reputation and legacy and all that is important to the Mansons specifically. (The reason(s) why can be up to you, but mostly it’s because that’s how it was in DP canon, lol.) 

As for Paulina, I had interpreted her joining the corps as its own sort of status symbol, since her specialty is xenolinguistics, and that’s her way of flaunting that high level of education of hers. On some level, it’s the same for Sam, beacuse the bipedal braces alone are hard to get except for the higher-class, so this could be some slight hypocrisy on the part of the chlori. However, while most chlori would disapprove of BOTH Paulina’s and Sam’s career choice, Paulina’s skills are specifically geared toward making connections with other species and planets, which is something chlori value. Plus everyone just loves Paulina

I think, on the whole, chlori would frown upon joining the corps on the whole because it would mean frequent extended stays off-planet. The fact that the corps imposes the bipedal-style growth requirement on chlori recruits is another smaller factor, but the main one is their ideology. For a plant-based people, putting down roots in their own community (both figuratively and literally) would be very important.

To answer your second question, the Christmas Truce is a yearly event run by @thickerthanectoplasm​ (becca) that works like a typical Secret Santa event, except with Danny Phantom fanart! It’s themed after the Christmas episode of DP, wherein the ghosts have a yearly truce for Christmas :) People sign up with what their talent/creative medium is (writing, cosplay, drawing, crafts, etc) and what they would like to recieve as a gift, and are then matched up randomly with a giftee!
