Ryuou is so excited about everything that’s happening here and Syaoran has no idea what to do about it. GUYS IS THERE A REASON WHY WE CAN’T TAKE RYUOU WITH US. 

YOU KNOW, ASIDE FROM PLOT REASONS? 

I WANT TO KEEP HIM.

Meanwhile Fai is calling Kurogane out on his shit and it’s glorious.

But it’s even better because Fai knows the exact button to push to get the reaction he’s after. He could have said anything here, but Fai KNOWS Kurogane, and he knows what he’s trying to do, and he knows that the one thing he hates more than Feelings ™ is making Sakura worry. 

And it works. 

AND THEN HE RUINS IT WITH THE FORBIDDEN WORD. 

Fai knows how to play Kurogane like an instrument. 

...Um. Not like that. (Actually also like that but not like that right now)

Meanwhile Fai takes advantage of Kurogane being thrown off kilter to ACTUALLY HAVE A SERIOUS CONVERSATION. 

Which is interesting to me because I get the impression he couldn’t have done this without trolling Kurogane first. For all the fact that Kurogane tries to avoid showing genuine emotion, Fai struggles with it just as much, and he needed an excuse to start this conversation before he could talk about what he really wanted to say.

Ok so I can’t decide if Fai is going down there to meet Kurogane personally or if he freaked himself out by how scared he was and needs to not be here when Kurogane arrives.

I CAN’T DECIDE WHICH IS BETTER, BUT I AM THRILLED THAT IT’S HAPPENING EITHER WAY.

In the meantime I fixed the dialogue. 

Day 9: Rare Pair   - “I never stood a chance, did I?” 

- Outo!Ryuou/Syaoran

He sees the way Little Puppy goes soft (softer, actually) and almost dopey eyed at the girl in the maid uniform, and oh. Okay. He gets it.

She seems like spring sunshine incarnate, soft and gentle and warm, and there’s something about her, a kind of magnetism, that seems to pull attention to her even when she doesn’t do much more than offer you a cup of tea. She’s cute as hell, too.

So yeah, Ryuou gets it. He gets it.
