First post from North Korea. The Ryugyong hotel is the most striking structure in Pyongyang. Its construction began 30 years ago, it has 105 floors and is topped by 5 rotating restaurants. Yet it has not yet opened and may never open. Instead it looms high over the city like some sci-fi movie scene come to life. I was endlessly fascinated with it each time it was in view. These overhead photos were taken from the top of Juche tower. The ground-level photo was taken from the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum.
