9 = I REALLY like this ship and it should be/is canon!

i will never not be salty at the writers for not allowing this ship to actually be canon in the game. they are beyond perfect for one another, both takumi and sakura recognize that he has feelings for her, and scarlet!shiro would have been goddamn amazing. 

LeoSaku

As familiar as Sakura is with the feeling of a heated, blushing face, it frustrates her. She wants to crawl into a hole. “W-why are you l-looking at me like th-that?”

Leo’s eyes soften, somehow even more than they already were. He sits with her at the low table, where steaming cups of tea are set out. The shoji doors stand open, revealing one of the gardens in Castle Shirasagi; many of the trees are starting to bud their pink cherry blossoms.

"May I confide something to you, Princess Sakura?” he asks.

She nods. She can’t quite look him in the eye. “Y-you may.”

He leans over the table, his fingers lacing together. “During our time together in the war against the Silent Dragon, I became...quite fond of you.”

She can feel her skin turn several shades darker, especially because she felt--feels--the same way about him. Her mouth moves, but no words come out.

“When I returned to Krakenburg, I found myself thinking about you quite often,” he admits. “My brother was torn between sending either Elise or myself to aid in diplomacy, and I must confess that I insisted upon the assignment so that I could see you. And over the course of our time together here in Shirasagi...I have fallen in love with you.”

Sakura covers her mouth, and she’s so overcome with joy and relief that returns her feelings, that her eyes water. 

Leo immediately stiffens, eyes widening. “O-of course, if you do not return my feelings--there is no need to--”

Sakura pulls her hand away from her mouth and smiles at him. For once, she can keep his gaze without looking away.

Ryoma x Scarlet

Ryoma sits cross-legged on a cushion as he writes a letter to be delivered toward one of the outlying cities of Hoshido. He dips his brush into his stone inkwell and carefully, expertly applies the strokes for the kanji.

A laugh sounds through the room, and he almost messes up the stroke order of a particularly complicated character. He hurriedly sets the brush aside before he can do any real damage and lifts his head up to find Scarlet at the door. She’s staring at him with a small smile on her face.

He can’t help but smile, if a bit warily. He may love her, but he’s smart enough to know when to be careful of one of her jokes. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“I’m imagining you with glasses,” she says. “You might need them if you keep squinting at your letters like that. I think you’d like quite handsome with a pair.”

“I’m close to needing them,” he admits. “Reading has started to become a pain.”

“Well, do I have the gift for you,” Scarlet says, coming into the room to sit lazily beside him. She pulls a pair of reading glasses out of her pocket; they’re round with thin red frames. A few shiny, valuable stones line the edges. It’s a bit gaudy for Ryoma’s tastes, but perfect for someone with Scarlet’s.

“I sent my favorite stones to a craftsman in Cheve,” Scarlet tells him as he tries on the pair. His letter instantly becomes clearer to his vision. “I was going to wait until your birthday, but I think you could use these as soon as possible.”

He leans over to kiss her. “Thank you, my love. I’ll cherish these.”
