Anyone who learned a second language later in life (I'm 21 in late June), did your teacher or tutor ever give you good universal advice about learning a language?
I'm having so much trouble with Russian. Idk why and I can't explain it, but my teacher saying I think about it too hard, and some people are just always thinking about how things work rather than gaining the general essential skills necessary for Russian.
My pronunciation great, and ik the Cyrillic alphabet, I just can't learn very fast because I'm thinking about meaning rather than putting it to use in every day situations.
Please help me out, idk where else to go, she's tried to explain it to the best of her ability, but I just can't pull the words out of thin air without a paper so I'm able to read what I want to say off of it.
I listen, I repeat, I use proper intonation, but only if I have the references to read the terms, and i can't once they're gone (most of the time)
I've paid like 800$ in total for a lesson a week since early-mid December.
I REALLY COULD USE SOME ADVICE
