I have some news!!
I started running yesterday!!
There is a group in my town for young adults to meet up and just hang out. I’ve been lurking on the group for a while just seeing what’s been going on and someone posted about wanting a running partner.
I am very apprehensive about getting a running partner because I still have a 14min+ pace so I am very slow and I don’t even run the entire time. It’s more of a walk/jog type of thing.
So I, nervously, commented on the post saying I would love a partner but here is my pace so if anybody is slow and wants to run or get into running then here I am and someone replied to me! She said that she is very slow and has never really ran before. I was super excited!!
We met up 2 days later and we started out walking and then we did a very low structured R2W1 (run for 2 minutes, walk for 1 minute) and it was great! We went for about 2.5 miles and we were out for about 50 minutes.
We met up again yesterday and we were only out for about 40 minutes, we did 2 miles but it was way more structured. We pushed up a hill and that part was tough but I am still so happy and excited that I am running again!
We have decided to meet up Tuesday to Friday and I am going to make us a training plan which will be prepping me for my half marathon in June 2021. I want to get back to running for 30 minutes straight and she has similar goals so I am beyond happy that I have a running partner! Yay!!!
