I’m over a month late posting this... but after doing a couple road miles this summer, I set my sights on the Voyageur 50 mile trail race with just about 4 weeks to prepare(not ideal) A roller coaster of a day to say the least. After a slow start, I uncharacteristically pushed the pace early on. I made it to half way on pace to break @scottjurek course record by 25 minutes, I continued to press on before quickly finding out what happens when you don’t respect the distance in an ultramarathon. Despite cramps in both hamstrings, both quads, and both calfs, I was able to stumble home the remaining 17 miles to finish 7th overall, nearly an hour off of my goal time. Special thanks to @noahthekid4 for crewing, and @runinrabbit #rabbitELITEtrail @runforeversports for the support. Quality gear that I can rely on no matter the distance. I’m now over a year running post collegiately. Though I’ve done a lot of stupid things on minimal preparation, and frequently bitten off more than I can chew, one things for certain, you haven’t seen the last of me! #runinrabbit #runforeversports #trailrunning #ultrarunning #ultramarathon #minnesota #duluth #fitness #cats (at Carlton, Minnesota) https://www.instagram.com/p/BnXnrirFe0N/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1l398dzbpgyjn
