A little Thurisaz Thursday!

One of my favorite runes to carve, it’s actually quite a challenge to get everything ‘just right’ while still keeping with that ‘forged by hand’ uniqueness and asymmetry.

Before and After....

The European cultures made great contributions to the world, things that we still practice today.  The runes are my way of celebrating that history.

Each pendant is forged to shape, weathered to give the appearance of great age almost as though it could have been worn by some ancient traveler.  The runes aren’t simply stamped into to the steel.  Rather, each line is meticulously carved, the depth and width varied along its length.

This is everywhere a piece of my work has gone.  From Finland to New Zealand, Israel to Singapore.....  it really makes me step back and appreciate all those wonderful customers.  My ironwork is in Madrid, a place I’ll never see in person.  There’s a bit of Three Rivers Forge in Switzerland and I hope it’s enjoying a nice coffee after a pleasant morning on the slopes.

Every time I think about hanging up my hammer, I think about that next order and where it might wind up.
