Bylerween Day 1 🎃🦇
AAAAAHHHH I’m actually so happy with how this turned out!! A huge huge HUGE thank you to @sleepysheepy123 for giving me so many great ideas for this piece! It would look nowhere near as good without your input :>
For this I decided to try and merge all 3 of the given prompts: The Crawl, RUN! and Creature Feature.
The Crawl with the tunnels, RUN! with the text and Creature Feature with the focus of the demogorgon.
@bylerween day one complete!

Wolfstar April 6, word count 429
Previous part First part
They watched the clock all day. The hours, minutes, and seconds all ticked by as the sun made its way across the sky and dipped beneath the horizon. Six hours came and went, and then the countdown was on.
“Ten hours,” Remus said in the darkened room. They’d been dreading it. Sirius had kept his eyes pinned on the road, wishing over and over that the headlights would appear and things could go back to normal.
“We need to go to the fort,” Remus continued, standing up and stretching his cramped limbs.
“Just a little longer,” James pleaded, not taking his eyes off the dark landscape.
“We’ll go get some supplies and find Albus, but once we’ve done that, we have to go, James. We can’t chance it.”
James nodded, and Remus beckoned Sirius to follow him.
It was just like the day they’d left the Potters. Sirius and Remus, with their bags, packing the essentials. “We shouldn’t be out there long, hopefully, but just in case we’ll need warm things and food.”
Albus appeared out of nowhere with five large thermoses and a stack of thick wool blankets tucked under his bony arm.
“Harris tweed,” he announced proudly as he pushed them into Sirius’s arms. “My mother wove them herself, best thing to keep you warm out there.”
“Aren’t you coming too?” Sirius asked, worried that if his parents’ people came for them, Albus would be all alone to defend the castle.
“I know this castle better than anyone; I have hiding places even you haven’t found yet. No need to worry about little old me,” Albus said, patting him on his arm. “Anyway, I bet Effie and Monty will be back any minute, and all this worry will be for nothing.”
They had to rearrange the bags again to accommodate the bulky blankets, but it was worth it; just carrying them in his arms had Sirius overheating.
With everything packed, they returned to the living room, where Regulus was gently stroking James’s hair as James stared out the window.
He suddenly perked up, his nose pressed against the cold glass.
“There’s a car!” he exclaimed, joy filling his words.
“The headlights look wrong,” Regulus said, peering at the looming lights. The lights suddenly went out, and dread filled the room.
“We need to go, now!” Remus said, grabbing Sirius and James by the arms and pulling them towards the door. They each grabbed a bag and ran to the back of the castle and out towards the forest and away from whoever was coming up the drive.
