Pack A Nutritious Picnic

If you are planning a day's walking, it's best to bear in mind that this could entail up to 20 miles of being on your feet - making it vital to have enough snacks to keep your energy levels high. There's no sense in hiking to remote hilltops if once you arrive, you can't see the view properly. Always pack a good camera and binoculars, as well as any glasses you require.

Be Prepared For Any Medical Problems

Hiking can be a dangerous activity, so it's best to take some basic first aid items like plasters, antiseptic cream, bandages and painkillers with you. If you have special requirements, like antihistamines to deal with hay fever, or glasses to improve your vision, make sure you don't forget those, either.
