Reasons Why I am a Rooster Teeth Fan:

The Content:  The content in both quality and amount is enough to keep me entertained for hours and hours.

The Personalities:  The way they are positive and funny no matter what happens is what keeps me coming back for more.

How do I begin to explain why I’m a fan of Rooster Teeth?

To start, why wouldn’t I be?  I heard from friends about Red vs Blue and I guess the rest is history from there.  I have watched this company grow from nothing.  I remember watching Achievement Hunter begin.  I remember when Red vs Blue started getting animated.  I remember the beginnings of RWBY and so many other milestones.

And through all these past years of changes and improvements, the core of RT remains the same.  We are in this together.

I guess it’s enough to say that I’m a fan of Rooster Teeth because this company, this community, these people, are like a family.  They are real and they are doing what they love.

There has been nothing from Rooster Teeth that hasn’t been made with love and passion and I admire that more than anything.

Nothing brightens my days like watching On The Spot, or old Let’s Plays, or marathoning RvB, or so many other things.

Rooster teeth brings out my inner child. Watching AH always brings me back to when my brothers and I would play games and make our own commentary. We may not be the best gamers, but we still have fun.

One of the first videos I ever watched was Minecraft Ep. 28, the very first fishing rodeo and jamboree. My boyfriend was the one to introduce me, and at first my only thoughts were that these guys yell a lot. But then I went home and watched all the previous minecraft episodes.... and I fell in love. Ray became my favorite AH member, Michael influenced the way I talk today, Gavin still continues to confuse me, Geoff's laugh continues to brighten my day (and cure cancer), Jack can definitely build me a house, and Ryan is just an evil genius.

And that's only one part of RT!

RvB has become one of my favorite shows. I love the complex characters and hilarious dialogue. I made sure that I watched every single episode before season 13 came out. I fell in love with Agent Washington's character and how complex his past is. And the AI's definitely make me wish I had my own Delta to guide me through life. I can't wait for more of RvB13!

And when Monty died....I really got to see what makes this company so great. It's not just the videos and merch, its this community. The second we heard something was wrong, everyone and I mean EVERYONE came together for support. I wish that I could have met Monty, but I know that he is still with us in his own way. This community is the reason he will forever live on in our hearts. And not just that, but we support each other for other things, even if it's just subscribing to someone's channel.

My life is a constant rollercoaster of emotion. One day I'll be happy, and the next my job could completely piss me off. But the second I go on Youtube and see RT or AH, my life seems to get better. And my family may not understand why I constantly am on Youtube watching people laughing and cursing, but that doesn't matter to me. I'm happy with what I do, and I'm happy and proud to be a part of this community.

I was going to do a picture and make a whole thing, but homework’s happened, so this will have to do. Oh well.

I'm a fan of Roosterteeth because we’re a family. I have never met a company who cares so much about their fans, about the quality of their content, and about each other. Though there are ups and downs, as in every family, people band together to support each other.

I'm a fan of Roosterteeth because of the humour in their work, because of the emotion behind the stories they tell, whether that be animation or live action, because of the effort that goes into creating so much free content every single week.

I'm a fan of Roosterteeth because of their support of their fans, that they do so much for us, that they’re willing to talk with us, create for us, fly halfway around the world for us (as an Aussie, I appreciate that). We’re not just a number to them, we’re people, and that’s not something that you can say about everyone in the limelight. 

I'm a fan of Roosterteeth not only for the company, but for the rest of the community too. The support that surrounds the company is only matched by that which surrounds other fans and often it’s a great place to be.

But most of all, I’m a fan of any company who can pronounce the word Melbourne correctly. And Roosterteeth comes under that banner.

I think of everyone at Rooster Teeth as role models, not celebrities. I look up to all of you and strive to do what you do, but I don’t see you as celebrities that are on a level above me. I would love to sit down and chat with you all and play video games if I could and honestly, I think I could talk to you all fairly easily (I’m not a good people person so talking to strangers isn’t my strong suit). You’ve all changed my life for the better, so thanks.

 I've told how I got into Rooster Teeth in a previous journal, but I guess it would be appropriate to start off with it again.

 Back in the fall of '13 (aka the beginning of sophomore year), Friend A (Shiro) and I were walking to Friend B's (Ryuu's) house on one of the early release days since she lives close to the school. I don't quite remember what we were doing, but we were eating sunflower seeds and Ryuu wanted to put on some background noise, so she pulled up Markiplier's Knock Knock playlist. Now, I absolutely HATE horror of any kind, but for some reason I actually liked this game? It was very interesting, and even though it scared me a little bit, it seemed really cool. Not to mention, Mark's a super cool guy so I decided to check him out when I got home. Now, if I did the math I could get a round estimate of the exact days I started to watch Markiplier and then Rooster Teeth, but it was sometime around Octoberish I believe, because I remember sitting in my not-yet-furnished room in my new house with my Kindle charging as I watched more of the Knock Knock videos. I subscribed to him that day, and from then on I've given half of my soul over to Youtubers. I started actively watching many of his videos that weren't horror related (I accidentally screamed a little bit when this lamp walked into view of the Knock Knock game on Mark's third video of it, so I gave up on watching it) and began to fall in love with this guy.

The next early release (these happen once a month) Shiro and I walked back to Ryuu's house and I wanted to show them this Mark video that made me laugh, so I did, and we enjoyed it. In the recommended videos section was a Rage Quit (since Ryuu had apparently seen some RT stuff before it turns out, and Shiro as well to an extent). It was the one game where you really had to fart but you were at a bus stop and you were trying to not alert the guy next to you. By the end of the video, the three of us were in tears and that was the first Rooster Teeth video I ever watched. We watched a few more Rage Quits before it was time to go home. I immediately subscribed to Rooster Teeth just to watch the Rage Quits. Then, I found out about the Let's Play channel, and after tentatively watching a Minecraft Let's Play, I fell in love with Achievement Hunter. It took many months before I began to start watching the RT podcasts and RWBY and Red vs Blue, but I'll never know why it took so long before I started to watch practically everything RT put out. I loved anime and had seen RWBY on Crunchyroll, so I watched it and loved it. My other friend Mana doesn't know much else about RT besides RWBY but it was something we had both seen so we decided to rp it (we've had a long history of roleplaying via text going back to middle school since we both absolutely love writing) and then my RWBY oc was born. I honestly like him ?? and I made a reference sheet for him haha. It took the longest for me to watch Red vs Blue since I A) know nothing about Halo B) the videos were old and not the best quality and C) I had watched the first two eps before and got bored, but I finally pushed myself to try and watch as much as I could.

Holy shit did I fall in love with Red vs Blue as the seasons went on. It got progressively easier for me to binge watch the episodes and I managed to watch seasons 8-11 in the matter of about 2 days (which is quite a feat for me). I, of course, also came up with a freelancer oc that I absolutely loved and doodled countless times. I actually was a sponsor before I finished watching RvB so I watched the first two episodes of season 12 as a sponsor even though I hadn't even finished season 2 yet and had no idea what was going on. To this day it continues to be one of my favorite shows of all time, and I love it to death to be honest.

 Phew, that was just my introduction. Be prepared for the reasons of why I stayed and why I look up to everyone so much.

 Everyone at Rooster Teeth means the world to me. I would honestly protect you guys with my life, because you have not only completely changed my life around, but you guys have helped so many other people.

First off: Monty -- Just like so many others, I took his death pretty badly. But, I won't go into details about that here since it's not really the time nor place to do so. That aside, he literally made his dream come to life, and I so badly want to do that as well. I love to write and draw, but putting these images and words into motion and creating an actual show for my ideas is what I strive to do one day. Whether it be a simple project I do on my own or as a professional company, I would love to animate the scenes I have imagined out. I love creating story ideas and I have a few that I would absolutely love see brought to life. And Monty is the reason I explore these ideas I have and why I have started to doodle or write out small parts of my characters and plot and keep branching on the idea. He's why I haven't just put the idea away for a later time. I want to be an amazing animator and cosplayer  like him. I literally dreamed about being able to meet him and talk to him and even work with him. I won't ever get that opportunity now, but I can keep moving forward and create these ideas myself. I thank him with all of my heart.

Next, the AH guys. Geoff first-- The boss of a group of nerds playing video games. What else can I say? The guys got one of the best jobs in the world, and his voice acting is pretty good I have to say. It's pretty hard not to like Geoff honestly. Before I could fully distinguish whose voice was whose, I found out I latched onto his voice for some reason, and he’s always seemed like one of those cool dad types haha. Without him, AH wouldn’t be possible, and I thank him so much for hiring all of his ‘mistakes’.

The guy who got me here in the first place-Michael -- Yep, I'm one of those Got-Into-RT-Because-Of-Rage-Quit people. Michael was my first favorite, so to speak (I mean look at how good-looking he is). Michael has given me a voice loud enough to quiet an entire room of talking teens, which I was never able to do before. Also he’s the voice of Sting from Fairy Tail I mean how amazing is that?? I started getting into Fairy Tail long before I ever knew of Rooster Teeth, so when I heard he was going to voice a dragonslayer, I literally squealed like a lil girl. And he’s such a nerd (with Pokemon and anime and stuff) and I’d love to have a dumb nerdy discussion with him one day aha. (I might’ve also started saying boosh because of him whoooops)

Speaking of nerds, I’ll go to Ryan next. Ryan is a huge inspiration to me not only because he can act (which definitely surprised me not gonna lie), but he’s pretty knowledgeable with computers and he did animation work before Achievement Hunter which is really cool. Ryan is just a cool guy overall I mean he’s also a nerd (wooo more anime nerds) and he’s so nice and funny (and he can join Michael in the I’m-so-good-looking club). Even with the murderous persona he’s still really awesome and I’d love to meet him in real life and just talk about anime and computers and stuff.

Another person I’d love to sit down and have a conversation with: Ray. God, Ray has probably made the biggest impact on me out of all of the Rooster Teeth employees (with Michael and Monty not far behind). To be honest, he’s where I see myself in ten years (can’t drive ((yet)), doesn’t drink, didn’t have a girlfriend for a while, playing video games often, pretty introverted, etc.) and he seems to live a good life. I’ve also heard he’s had some social anxiety or something of that nature before which makes him that much more relatable. Besides all of that, Ray has introduced me to something that has helped more than I ever realized it would. About a year ago, I started watching his streams. At the end of his streams, he’d do a #RAYD, usually on a speedrunner. I remember the RAYD at the time was for Geoff, an amazing speedrunner that I love to death. I followed him, and he became the first speedrunner I ever started watching. I fell in love with him and his streams and his chat and became a regular. He introduced me to more speedrunners, and suddenly I was so invested in speedrunning I even considered doing it myself. It’s not just being introduced to speedrunners that has helped me. At night, I can get a bit paranoid or anxious, especially when my dad is gone or I can stay up super late. The realistic part of my brain shuts off and it’s thoughts like “what if someone breaks in or the apocalypse happens?” that fill my head, even though I know everything will be fine. Achievement Hunter videos have helped me so much in that regard, and I remember watching my first GTA lets play (train hopping or whatever) late one night because of this feeling and fell in love with the lets plays. During the summer, however, I turned to watching speerunners late at night when I couldn’t sleep, since many of them stream pretty late. They helped me calm down and helped me sleep and for that, I thank Ray so much. I really wish I could tell him this personally one day, because I don’t think it translates well as a written letter, but Ray is an amazing guy (even if he says something that makes people mad sometime), and although I’ll dearly miss him in the let’s plays, I’m so happy he’s able to stream fulltime now and I will be in his streams as often as I can.

Speaking of streaming: Jack. Jack is super nice and it’s almost hard to think of him being in a room with a bunch of cussing and yelling guys playing video games, but I’m so glad he’s a part of AH. The way he can make these huge charity events happen is incredible and I’m amazed at how much is raised every time. His great Assassin Creed and Trials skills made me want to play them, and it turns out I love playing Assassins Creed. Jack’s a ray of sunshine and so is his wife Caiti and I love them both.

Finally, Gavin. I always say he’s book smart, but not necessarily street smart. His knowledge of science astounds me and his and Dan’s slow mo vids are amazing and I love them a lot. His hypothetical questions always make me wonder just what’s going on in his head, but they elicit some great responses for the rest of the guys and he makes me laugh. Plus, he’s worked on actual movies before (and is even an actor in one of them) which is super cool.

I love the rest of the AH guys that aren’t always on camera. Kdin is super chill and he’s also one of those guys I’d love to sit down and talk about anime and Nintendo with.  I don’t really know what to say other than I’d love to have a chat with him one day (and also thank him for all of his work gosh he does a lot) Then there’s Lindsay, who’s super pretty and awesome as well (despite what those other people think). Her voice work is really awesome (I mean she can voice three completely different characters easily wow) and Kdin’s got an amazing voice as well (please let him voice more stuff that’d be great thx). I remember seeing Matt and Jeremy at RTX 2014 when they were next to me talking to a guardian about something or other. I didn’t know who they were at the time (I’d heard about them a few times before with their builds and such but I don’t watch community vids). I really wanted to congratulate them, but like I said I didn’t really know them much and I was kind of nervous. Caleb, Steffie, and Trevor are also super cool and I honestly don’t know what else to say ahh.

Out of AH, Miles has been a huge inspiration of mine from a writing standpoint. He writes for two different shows and knows how to make them funny yet creative, and it’s inspired me to start writing again as well. In addition to that, he animates RvB and also voice acts in both of the shows! He is an amazing Felix and he is able to go from the greedy mercenary to Jaune which I’m pretty jealous of. Miles is super funny and such a dork as well (but he’s on red team tsk tsk). Another guy I’d love to talk to in person.

I could go on for twenty more pages, but I’m pretty sure my hands would fall off by then. I’ll probably think of more to say later but oh well. Rooster Teeth has helped me decide on going into the computer science field as my major in college and has given me inspiration and creativity to create new stories and ideas. I created my own RWBY and RvB OC’s for a start (and I love them both ahh). My one story idea that I’m currently in love with and developing stuff for all of the time actually started out as an AH AU. I realized I really liked the idea of my AU, so I added in a main character, gave the guys some magic and knight abilities, and changed some of their personalities around and tada new story idea that I absolutely love. Some of the characters are based on some AH people (one is a mythical summoner who loves dragons, one is a regular summoner who likes cats and birds, one is a loud knight who uses a sword, one uses potions and status magic in battle, etc.) as well. I want to write this story, of course, but I would love to be able to animate it and bring it to life like Monty did, so hopefully I can accomplish that in the future.

Rooster Teeth has helped me grow so much. I’ve grown thicker skin and I’ve had a huge self-confidence and self-esteem boost from the past year and a half of watching. I’ve made new friends (in real life and online) that I can talk to about any RT show (unfortunately, I have yet to find a blue team fan in real life but I know three reds tsk tsk). I’ve grown out of my shell a little and now I’m the one in my group of friends that talks to employees or strangers when they’re too anxious to. I went to RTX and had an amazing time and hope to return in the future and goddamn I better be able to meet you guys in person one day because all of you are the biggest inspirations in my life. I honestly don’t know what I’d be doing now without you all.
