Anyone got any fun fantasy/sci-fi combo chatrooms they hang out in? CC’s place was cool because they had a bunch of established rooms on the sidebar but you could make your own too, and you could make private rooms for 18+ roleplay too...

I say the following things with absolute 100% love:

“I only para-chat” those were the snobs who ONLY RPed with you if you posted at LEAST one whole “paragraph” at a time, meaning you filled the entire allowable characters in the text field.

Doing shit like <> at the end of a post to indicate more was coming.

Fucking sitting there and like, pre-typing shit in anticipation of what the other person was gonna say, getting pretentiously deep and shit.

Lots of “angle” aka angel characters. Characters who were “1/2 werewolf, 1/2 angle, 1/2 demon”.

Listing in detail what your wolf character’s scent was.

So many orphaned baby neko children I actually created a neko character who looked like Wolverine who was from “real Neko society” whose sole reason for existing was to mercy-kill all the orphaned neko children.

My half-fallen-angel-half-demon-half-drow-elf character. Yes that’s three+ halves. That’s why I’m allowed to make fun of that trope. I DID it.

So occasionally I make a plug for The Keep here because it’s where I tend to frequent when it comes to roleplay chats, so I wanted to make another little PSA for it.

I’ve met a lot of great people through it over the years. Creative writing is and always has been something I’ve really enjoyed, but writing a collaborative story has always been really fun for me.

If you like fast paced story development, a wide variety of styles and game types, and the ability to really branch out, maybe you should check it out. It’s been one of the nicest chat sites I’ve been on.

Sure, it’s got politics, but it’s small and after a time most everyone starts to get to know eachother, but for the most part, it’s pleasant and allows for a lot of freedom in terms of how you want to do a game. There is also a built-in rolling system if that’s up your alley.
