Yeah whatâs with the royal watchers calling military personnels who toured war criminals though? I didnât remember this fandom being like this 10 years ago.
I mean I could try to explain some of the thought process, because not all of us are the All-American Heroes⢠we're sometimes portrayed to be, but at least today I don't feel like drafting such an essay.
In my experience, people think "Oh you serve so that means you know everything about the decisions and missions and politics behind them and are involved in this process GO FUCK YOURSELF." No lady, no I absolutely am not. I'm an E-6 who's job is to maintain radar systems and my security clearance does NOT grant me access to that level of information, you are out of your goddamn mind.
Years ago, this fandom was way more vile, hateful, and detrimental to my mental health (and largely responsible for the end of a relationship, even!). I don't know how the fuck I put up with the way I was treated and talked to. But I also I had some friends, most of whom have left this site for reasons. The level of absolute lunacy around stupid shit like shutting car doors was alive and well, just directed at a different wife.
I love that you specified that it was a BOX wine that theyâre drinking đ. I had to log out of the internet every time I read royal fandomâs ignorant commentary.
Like, ok, there are some sane folks in this fandom, right, but largely it's full of women who either hate the very thing/person they blog about, which is an odd way to spend your time, or women who are just MAD. No real reason, no solution to the issue, they're just đ all the time, and they can't understand how fucking WEIRD that is.
I sometimes sit here and wonder "Dude do their kids know mama hate blogs about a woman who married an inconsequential royal guy?" DO THEIR KIDS KNOW HOW MISERABLE AND HATEFUL THEY ARE? Must make the holidays awkward for everyone. đ
No longer knee deep in royal fandom but apparently Invictus is next month and honestly I cannot wait for a slew of brand dead takes about the military, its procession or how every single military personnel is a war criminal đĽ´đĽ´đĽ´

Let me just say that being active duty Navy is, in fact, exhausting in this shitass fandom. Because suddenly every middle-aged (and I mean 50 - 65 here) conservative white woman in this fandom, which there is a surprising amount of, will sit on their phone with their glass of box wine and Karen the ever living fuck out of the entire thing.
Women who never put on a uniform are suddenly experts of customs, courtesies, regulations, the events' structure, the business side of it, its inner workings, and participate in beratement of the man who runs the thing, himself a veteran. Not to mention they act as if they speak for the entire military community. Lady, no one is bothered except you, and that's only because you have this weird parasocial beef with Prince Harry and his wife. In 'Merica, generally speaking nobody thinks about them; gas prices are too high for that shit.
