Someone asked what everyoneâs magic abilities are and i canât find the original ask so iâm answering here!
Sorry for the delay! Here are the abilities that have shown up in the fantasy fics so far!
Raph has his projection powers from the show, but he also had dreamwalkin abilities. Heâs also proficien in protective spells like shields and has his usual tonfa powers only now theyâre channeled in brass knuckles
Leo was born with two gifts, One is his illusionary magic and Second is his healing abilites but heâs considered to be a magical genius. He mostly uses his illusionary magic. He also uses a rapier
Mikey has empathy powers and abilities that allow him to sense the emotions of others. Because of that he can âtalkâ to animals and has fire manipulation. He has a grapple and a crossbow as weapons but tries to do as little harm as possible
Donnie isnât very good at magic or control over his levitation powers so he depends alot on his physical abiiites and enchanted items. He uses a hooked staff as a weapon.

Hey guys! I got some quick recs to give~
SO! my friend @undercoverwizardfanfiction is a really talented fic writer and I really suggest you go read some of their fics! They post both on tumblr and ao3 but Iâll be sharing stuff from ao3 for now. A few of my favs are:
The first Iâll be recommending is: Twilight Thief -Â the fic that got me interested in the fantasy au
- The Thief and The Orphan - continuation of the fantasy au story line, this is a flashback to when Donnie was a baby and his adoptive father, Leonard.
-Â Shattered - the first fic of theirs I ever read with one of my fav headcanons of Donnie being autistic and the struggles around that (also anxious leo)
- The Prince of Lies - sequel to Twilight Thief
And the last one for this list of my favs of their work would have to be, Weighted Blanket - A fic written for me by Charmy using my habit of falling asleep quickly with a weighted blanket as inspo XD
I love all of their writing and highly recommend reading all of it. Leave comments if you want, they deserve them. I feel like people have been sitting on these gems and not even noticing them so I wanted to put a spotlight on all of them.

Summary: Red Fox finally concinces Jupiter Jame to visit a orphanage as a act of good will. But who she meets will change the path of not only her destiny, but of the child she meets

âJupiter James a-HOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!â comes the loud battle-cry as James kicks open the unlatched door to the orphanage hunched down with his hands in a fighting stance. The children inside immediately stand up and begin to cheer loudly, already crowding around the famed hero. It had taken more than a little bit of persuasion for Red Fox to convince James of come visit the orphanage (more than it would have taken probably a decent person) but she understood that her adoptive father was busy and didnât like having his schedule filled the to the brim every day. But, as she ducked quietly into the orphanage after him, unnoticed by the screaming kids, she canât help but smile at their excitement. James is already dubbing them all âdeputy heroesâ and hoisting several kids to sit on his biceps at a time.
She finally notices a caretaker trying to get her attention and starts waddling through kids to get to her. âHey Yolie,â she says with a smile, âIâm sorry it took so long for us to get here.â
âDonât worry about it it was well worth it.â The old caretaker smiles at the rowdy kids all scrambling for Captain Jamesâ attention. âItâs not often the kids get this excited about anything anymore. Ever since the Queen increased taxes on nonprofit organizations, we havenât been able to afford as much entertainment.â
âIâm sure the Queen had her reasons.â Red Fox nods sadly, thatâs what James would say, who often bragged long about how he met the Queen personally. If he supported her then she had to, as well. âWeâll be sure to leave a donation before we leave.â
Yolie lets out a soft sigh of relief, âThat would greatly appreciated. It might help cover the repairs from-â Thereâs a loud sound of cracking wood and the old fox lets out an almost distressed sigh, âOh no not again!!â before hiking up her skirt and hurrying back down the hall. Red Fox glances to make sure that James will be alright without her before hurrying after. Sheâs surprised to see Yolie duck into the room designated for toddlers. âNo not again! Please Raphie you canât be doing this!!!!! Not again!!â
Red Fox enters the room half expecting to see a ten foot tall monster terrorizing the children. But after glancing around the room for a moment her eyes finally fall on the aggressor who is locked in a tug of war match with the hapless caretaker. Yolie was desperately trying to pull a bar of wood out of the childâs teeth who was braced on all fours like a dog. If it wasnât for the fact the child was giggling loudly Red Fox would have thought it was malicious. But even after Yolie finally frees the bar from his teeth, the child laughs and sits down.
Heâs almost big enough to be mistaken for a five year old, but there's an undoubtedly blank look in his happy green eyes that tells Red heâs no older than two. She wonders why heâs in a bed instead of a crib when she realizes it had been a crib and that the snapping turtle had simply chewed through the bars. And was seemingly proud of himself, judging by his loud giggles and big goofy smile. When Red enters the room, the child looks to her and seems to smile even bigger, if thatâs even possible, and she can'tâ help but return it. âIs this your menace?â she says in a teasing tone as she tickles the toddler under his chin.
âHis name is Raphael, heâs one of our newer children. A ranger dropped him off a few months ago.â Yolie sighs, putting her hand over face, âHeâs a sweet boy but he doesnât know his own strength. And frankly weâre running out of cribs to keep him in.â
âHow strong can he-â Redâs question was answered when Raphael suddenly wrapped his arms around her hand, hugging it with surprising strength that makes her jump in alarm. She has to fight her own self-preservation to keep from ripping her hand away. But sheâs grateful she doesnât when the toddler nuzzles his cheek over her hand, as though enjoying the feeling of her fur on his cheek. âHe doesnât seem so bad.â
âHeâs not but weâre not equipped to manage a Yokai like him.â Yolie sighs, âIâll be honest, Iâve grown rather fond of him, but my superior thinks it might be better to send him to another orphanage more⊠adept at taking care of destructive Yokai.â
Red Fox canât help the shiver that escapes her. While most orphanages werenât as inhospitable as musicals lead people to believe, she had heard of the orphanages for âspecial challengesâ. She had never been to one herself, thankfully as a fuzzy cute orphan she hadnât been seen as a danger to anyone else. But she had seen the kind of people those orphanages had turned out. Most of them ended up as the very criminals that she hunted down. She tried not to imagine this sweet child on the receiving end of a merciless bounty hunter.
She couldnât.
âMaybe I can talk to James.â She speaks before she realizes what shes doing and has to blink to help center herself. Rephrasing, âWeâve been talking about recruiting more children into our guild. Heâs a little young, but I think he might be a good fit.â The young snapping turtle looks up at her with a head tilt in confusion.
âI-Um.â Yolie starts uncertainly, âAre you sure? Heâs a handful.â
Honestly, this wasnât a decision she wanted to make herself. She was barely old enough to hold a bounty hunting license. But as the young child chirps at her in question, she knows sheâs made up her mind. âYes,â she decides. âIâm sure.â
Yolie looks to the child with a sad fondness before sighing. âAlright, youâd be doing me and him a favor. Iâll let the Headmistress know of your decision,â she says before turning and walking out of the room. Red Fox looks back to the little big boy. âAlright big guy,â she says softly, heaving the boy into her arms where he immediately reaches for her ears. Heâs definitely heavier than he looks. âDonât make me regret this alright?â she says, not in a cruel way, but in a sincere way that only wants what's best for the boy. The snapping turtle smiles at her again, before leaning forward and tapping his beak against her nose. She can'tâ help the weak laugh that escapes her as she rubs her nose. âRaphael huh?I think thatâs a good name for you,â she says carrying him off. Neither of them would understand the repercussions of Red Foxâs kindness for years to come.

So @tiramisu-art created this Fantasy AU idea that takes place in a magical world. The the turtle bros are separated at birth and raised by different people.
The Messenger, Mikey - Raised by Toddrick the Druid. A courier. Has empathic abilities.
The Hunter, Raph - Raised by James Jupiter. A bounty hunter. Has dreamwalking abilities.
The Prince, Leo - A âwardâ of Big Mama. Prissy rich boy. Has illusory and healing abilities.
The Thief, Donnie - Raised by the Mud Dogz with Leonard as a father figure. Thieves with honor. Has levitation abilities.
For this AU several artist and writers have gotten together and created some great stuff! But we were lacking in the Mikey and Raph side of things, so I figured Iâd pop in and do some story building for them. Mikey was raised mostly in a forest and among animals, so heâs pretty sheltered and naive to the world. His empathic abilities give him insight into otherâs feelings, but not their intentions. Meanwhile, Raph was given a very skewed sense of right and wrong based on the vigilante, James Jupiterâs (Jupiter Jim), teachings. JJ, being a rather narcissistic and manipulative man, also gave Raph a sense that if he made one wrong move he could become one of the very criminals and monsters that JJ fights. The two turtle boys meet up and end up learning from each other.

Hi! Thanks so much for your interest in the fantasy AU!
Most of the art and info can be found on our tumblr, which is @rottmntfantasyau. Meanwhile, all of the fics are on our AO3 collection called âThe Messenger, The Hunter, The Prince, and The Thiefâ.
A large majority of the fics center around Leo and Donnie, with âWhen the Moon meets the Morningâ focusing on Mikey and Raph. âDo Not Go Gentle...â though still with a bit of a Donnie focus, is looking to encompass much of the plot and give a spotlight to all the turtles, however it just started out.
The creators have a general idea for the plot, but thereâs not a whole lot of organization when it comes to putting the stories in order, and even some of them donât always fit somewhere specific (and at times may contradict one another). Most of the fics so far occur before the main events of the plot, focusing on the turtlesâ backstories. Here is an approximate story order with links to each fic:

If you want my opinion as a good place to start for the AU, âLegends of the Hidden Kingdomâ and âFate of the Brothers Solsticeâ help set the tone and give you a little bit of context for the world and plot. âThe Twilight Thiefâ gives you the main highlights of Donnie and Leoâs backstory and âWhen the Moon meets the Morningâ gives you the Raph and Mikey highlights.

I think out of all the requests, this was my favorite one to do. Maybe Iâm just biased because it was a request for me to do art on one of my own fics (which you can read here, btw (yes this is a shameless plug)), but I liked doing the sketchy, story-book feel, which is kind of how I envision the story as a whole.
