Okay, but what IS your favorite dumb conspiracy theory about JFK?

So, I can’t ever in good conscience actually recommend this podcast, since it’s more than a little risque and the boys have been quite problematic in the past, but Last Podcast On The Left did a massive series about the JFK assassination and dedicated at least an entire episode (possibly two) to the conspiracy theories surrounding it, from the plausible to the absolutely ludicrous.

The one they put forward that they found reasonable (and so do I, though I do believe it was Oswald, acting alone) was that it was a confluence of a couple of things -- the Secret Service agents had been out drinking the night before, so were hungover or still drunk during the parade, and one of them was very young and not well-trained, and didn’t secure his gun properly. When Oswald fired, the young agent startled and the gun went off, and that’s the shot that hit Kennedy. The Secret Service covered it up to keep themselves from being implicated and protect the agent who fired from a lifetime of persecution for killing a president.

Well, first of all this is not just a date, but it’s The Date.

Out of curiosity, how did you come up with the name Arxni for Tony? I haven't been able to figure that out.

Well when I was first coming up with names, I decided I wanted to use a lot of “less used” letters, like X, V, Q, and Z, and then add some “silent” Rs. (Almost every R in Tony’s language is silent unless it is at the beginning or end of a word or name.) Then I started with Anthony, which went to Axni, and then added an R for shiggles because the way Tony’s people pronounce Rs is considered silent to them, but Rs to Asgard and Midgard/Terra are very solid sounds. It’s why Tony’s so confused when they call him “Arks-nee.” To his ear, his name is “Ax-nee,” which sounds more like Anthony than Arks-nee. Veppria’s name is pronounced “Vep-pee-uh” which sounds more like “Pepper” than “Vep-pree-ah.” Rhodey’s the only one who has a really hard R and that’s only because the R is at the beginning of his name--Rhidz sounds like Rhodes. Rhodey’s first name is actually Zaves--James.

So all in all the aliens’ names are:

Arxni and Orarz Ztakk -- Anthony and Howard Stark

Mylae Qabinol -- Maria Carbonell

Vyxina “Veppria” Patz -- Virginia “Pepper” Potts

Zaves Rhidz -- James Rhodes

also tvp if you want some extra protein and ground beef texture

I’ve actually never even heard of this stuff. Where does one acquire it? Is it expensive? (Again, I’m doing this partially for budgetary reasons, so whatever I’m subbing for meat has to be cheaper than meat.)

Hence why it’s likely that are actually long stretches (especially across the Great Plains where the terrain is not just flat but also lacking district population centers; so no need to direct the lines away from a straight shot) where the train goes much faster than 250 mph. Possibly into and over 300, which is possible even with conventional wheeled train (the current record is held by the French LGV Est at just over 350 mph),  

And even then, it’s why I added the initial buffers of 2 hrs to the travel times and allowed for slight additional buffering.

If the train did have an average speed of 200 mph, Denver’s still too close. 

1675 miles to Denver / 200 mph = 8.375 hrs + 2 hrs buffer = -(10.375 hrs - 13 hrs) = 2.6 hrs to spare.
