sooo I have a fanfic idea that I'm probably never going to write but who knows, so anyone is welcome to write it but please do tag me because I'd love to see! idea under the cut, contains canon from up to Hell Bent
I'm going to put this as a list in not really a specific order
clara's tardis communicates with the doctor's (we know tardises can communicate cause it's been mentioned before) and the doctor's tells her about the bad wolf, the only human who held the time vortex inside her head and is still alive
clara decides to go back to the powell estate to see her dad one last time, she wants to invite him over and pretend like everything is normal just once more while she still can
her tardis isn't as cheeky about destinations as the doctor's (yet) because she's much younger, but decides she wants to see the human the doctor's ship told her about
so when clara sets the destination as the powell estate, 2014, her tardis goes to the right place but not the right time and takes her to 2005 / 6 instead
clara doesn't realise straight away that it's the wrong time and goes up to her apartment (headcanon is they live in the same apartment, plus it works for this fic) and meets rose who is just coming out of the door having heard the tardis noise
cue confusion as 1. there's someone in clara's apartment and 2. rose heard the tardis, she's sure of it, but the doctor isn't there
anyway I'm really not sure how it would continue but I wanted to write it down before I forgot :))

"clara and rose dated in school" even when I ignore the fact that clara didn’t grow up in london this still does not click for me so let me lay out how I see their in-school dynamic working out
clara was an annoying know-it-all and rose was a drop out, they came from very different backgrounds in terms of family and class. the only times they ever interacted were; 1. when rose overheard clara saying she dressed like a whore or whatever (clara had been trying to impress some popular girls who were giving her attention for once) and rose walked right up to her and punched her in the face. 2. a year later when rose was crying in the bathroom because she started her period and failed a math exam and her shitty boyfriend said something awful and clara passed her a tampon and told her she looked pretty. clara didn't apologize for what she said before but she clearly wasn’t holding a grudge over being punched in the face, either, so. rose smiled and said thank you and then dropped out of school the next month. clara saw her again when visiting her grandparents in 2004, they waved but didn’t say anything. they don’t see each other again after that but, separately, they both think about the other. clara admits to herself that she chose rose to insult that one time because she was attracted to her and didn’t know how to handle it. rose thinks about clara calling her pretty in that bathroom all the time.
