They were literally given their jobs to balance each other out and Gestalt is one person with multiple bodies at the same time, and Rook Thomas and Myfanwy are two people with the same body at different times.

Once Myfanwy takes over, she triggers the events that cause a massive change in Gestalt's life and (number of) bodies.

Gestalt is a Grafter traitor and Myfanwy, while hiding things from the Checquy, chooses to make an alliance between them and the Grafters. Gestalt is desperate to live at any cost and Rook Thomas chooses to let go of her life and do everything she can for Myfanwy.

It could be that their parents used both pronunciations, or that the 'rhymes with Tiffany' pronunciation was some kind of nickname, but I think there are two more likely possibilities.

The teachers/other children at the estate couldn't/didn't pronounce it properly and young Myfanwy couldn't or didn't correct them.

Or Myfanwy's family used the 'rhymes with Tiffany' pronunciation and after Myfanwy left home her family didn't talk about her to the extent that Bronwyn, who obviously adored her and desperately wanted to know where she was, who was one of the people Rook Thomas said she loved the most, didn't know how to pronounce her name.

5 Things I Loved

Myfanwy - she's such a fun protagonist and I love watching her approach to problems and making friends. It's fantastic watching her come into her own.

Speaking of, something else I really love are the dynamics between the characters. There are so many different types of relationships in the book, which is impressive given the fact that Myfanwy is an entirely new person meeting all these people for the first time. Some of my favourites are the relationships Myfanwy has with Ingrid, Shantay, and Gestalt!

The scary elements. The book has some really chilling and horrifying concepts and the darker side of the world building us often explored.

The powers! There are so many different and unusual powers in the book and some of them are really unique!

Das Hörbuch hatte ich als Download vom Bloggerportal erhalten, leider konnte ich die Rar Datei nicht umwandeln und jeden Abschnitt einzeln anklicken war mir zu kompliziert, weshalb ich mir das Hörbuch letztlich doch über Audible selbst gekauft habe (mit einem Ticket), was ich dann allerdings auch behalten werde (man kann auch Hörbücher zurückgeben).
