under all that black fur my boy has some stripes!
I didn't have the heart to post this yesterday. Because his shave went pretty rough.
I didn't make it home before the groomers called, worried they were seeing some breathing issues. While he doesn't have any previous issues, you never know.
Regardless I turned around and drove back out to check on my boy. As soon as he saw me he relaxed a great deal. By the time I made it a fourth of the way home he was chill and comfy. We watched him all night, isolated him to make sure, no breathing issues. So it was just anxiety related, which like... fair. The day started with a thunderstorm which freaks him out and ended with him getting shaved. Terrifying day for this man.
Anyways, they were able to do a quick shave and a bath, but not even things out or finish up and that's okay, he just needed the bulk of the fur gone. What does this mean for his future shaves? I'm not sure, we may try and shave him at home going forward.
Well, he's done it. He has pooped!!! REJOICE!!!
He managed that about 5 hours ago. I put waterproof sheets down on a bed, pee pads all over the place and brought my boy home. He's doing well at home so far, but is very sad to be separated from his brothers(he has to stay separated until I see some solid forms in the box).
He's going to need a bath(deep sudsy foamy bath) at the end of all this, which will be a trick because when at home and comfy, he bites HARD. (he never even tries to bite vet staff etc. but he is fully vaccinated, just in case, vet staff generally comments on his 'dream boat' personality lol)
Look at this man. (mega cut, because despite both us and the hospital cleaning him, him nasty)
