A Bene Rogue - Chapter 2 (Ao3)
How Capβn Jacke came to be a Rogue.
The Upright Thieves gave Jacke and Raelha a tiny cabin to themselves aboard the Consequences.
Jacke slumped against the shut door as soon as they were inside. The cabin was near the bow where the sway of the sea was the worst, and really more of a cupboard than a room, but it was such a relief to have a private space to themselves that he couldnβt care less. There were two narrow bunks and a door that locked, lit by a single porthole. He let out a hollow breath that felt as though it had been trapped within him for a year.
Raelha looked around with critical eyes. Blood splatter from the slaughter of the Salt Hounds decorated her shoes.
They were going to be alright. No matter what it took, or what these new pirates wanted of them, they would make it.
Privateers who break the code post ARR when they get a 'visit' from the rogues guild: is that the fucking Warrior of Light
In one of my D&D campaigns I have two characters. Feyra is a CN, Fire Genasi, Arcane Trickster and is the leader of the 'Disaster Kids' rogues guild whose goal is simply to steal couches. Sammor is a LN, Half Elf, Oath of Conquest Paladin of Nike who has been placed as the captain of the city gaurds. Sammor has specifically been tasked with arresting the Disaster Kids, but as far as she knows or has any evidence of, they've never done anything illegal. Everytime we play the Disaster Kids lately the DM has had Sammor show up and the interactions boil down to "You aren't doing anything illegal and I'm busy dealing with these 45 other disasters, so get out of here and I'll deal with you later!" And I really love this juxtaposition between my two characters.
