Gibson Wells, the founder of Cloud, seems to be a combination of Jeff Bezos and Sam Walton. I have never met Bezos but I did meet Sam Walton a couple of times when I worked for WM many years ago. He was a lot nicer than the founder here. One of the frightening parts of this book is just how close we might be to some of this happening. We have an Amazon warehouse here and the students I’ve had that worked there often talk about the expectation of constant movement. Hart’s book has several storylines but they all come together. I love when an author can create something I would never have imagined. In The Paradox Hotel, Rob Hart gives us a place where Time Travelers stay. "January Cole is Head of Security at the Paradox Hotel. She is also slightly Unstuck from all her hours spent riding the Time Stream. She sees things that aren't really there...yet...but might be. The hotel and the time travel port are up for sale and several trillionaires have been invited to bid on it. January has a dead body in a room that only she can see. There are dinosaurs running around the hotel. Time is a little wonky and all of the guests are seeing ghosts. January is not sure who she can trust anymore. And what's this about a secret room?" Hart has created a place that sounds plausible. All of the characters treat time travel like it’s a normal, but very expensive, event. And then he puts them in situations where the time travel radiation is causing problems in the hotel. Problems like dinosaurs and early sunsets. Just like in The Warehouse, Hart writes about a big organization and the people in it. There are characters willing to do anything for money and power. The ending is a bit vague. I think I would have preferred something more specific. This is a great, amazing story from Hart. Time travel fans will love this one. Tenemos dos protagonistas, que se hacen con un puesto de trabajo por motivos muy distintos, pero que terminan encajando como piezas de un puzle, aunque no puedan olvidar lo que realmente les ha llevado hasta allí. Un libro con misterio, conspiraciones y secretos, que os mantendrá enganchados de principio a fin, y que os recomiendo si os gustan este tipo de historias porque lo vais a disfrutar mucho.
