The ASU recycling and trash cans
This is something I could go on and on about, but would ultimately be saying the same words over and over.
Appalachian State University has placed trash can + recycling can combos all around campus. This is ultimately a good thing. However, the colors they chose for each? Unforgivable.
Before I tell you, which of the above do you think is the recycling can?
I’ll give it away. It’s the blue one.
You can’t just put a blue+green can combo up and make the blue one recycling and the green one trash! Green is widely accepted as the international color of recycling! Blue? Blue means nothing. It would be better to make them both the same color, but no, we have to make the green one trash and the blue one recycling because nothing matters and God is dead.
Obviously this isnt the only factor, but it only takes a peak in either can to see that both recycling+landfill trash have been mixed into each, in basically equal amounts. I think this heinous crime against design plays a big factor in that.
