realized on my walk home that there’s untapped comedic potential in chris having to tell celia about his relationship with robert oh my god imagine him having to explain that to her. i’m picturing it like hi mother :) i’m dating someone (already a bad start, she hates that) and he’s the man (even worse, she’s homophobic) that you had that awkward extramarital affair with that one christmas (okay what the fuck chris) and he accidentally shot me once live on air (well that part she actually finds kind of funny)

wait pause. to add onto this idea i think one of the things robert shouts at celia when they have their very loud very public argument is that he could help her raise her son if he stays with her like chris isn't a fully grown adult

i've been recently entertaining the idea of a no drama society grovebean/chrissandrarobert au where after a very messy breakup with celia at a bean family event robert offers her son to run away with him as an impulsive act of revenge and chris hesitantly takes it in a half disassociated state and the fallout of that as chris realizes how fucked up and abusive his family actually is through the power of being away from them and talking to his mother's ex boyfriend's roommate (sandra) who's not afraid to tell him that his experiences are absolutely fucked. never underestimate the absurdity and distance from canon we can reach through the sheer power of self indulgence gklasdfj

i didn't think robert/celia would captivate me as much as it does but tbh i should've known i would've latched onto it in some capacity. i'm a sick individual and i love celia's evil ass of course i have thoughts on whatever fucked up thing they had going on between them lmao
