russian is an extremely homogenous language; there are not that many dialects despite how widespread it is, probably partly even because of it (which is why i'm so fascinated with them in my non-native languages). that being said, you can still manage to break your friends from other russian-speaking countries simply by asking them for a bowl ("плошка" back where i'm from — both of them had no idea tf i was talking about and stared at me like i suddenly started speaking German).
