Well first of all im so sorry for taking so much time to write this prompt, but after yesterday, it felt right; so i hope you dont mind this is a bughead drabble. (you know the one!!)

This is how the story goes.

I knew Riverdale as a small town with pep, but now is a place cursed with its own darkness. Much like me at this point. After my trip to New York, I was able to tap into some close doors and amends need it to be made.

But there was one thing that my brain didn’t complete the puzzle. The long asserted toxic voicemail. That was what drove me to Betty’s house that night. It was a reflective act. I need to atone for my mistakes and know the full extend of those mistakes.

I knocked at her door, blood pumping and sweat hands. The girl next door ajar the wood panel enough that I could see her gold locks slipping between her eyes. Even though I was a writer, words fled me.

I started straight, stating that I didn’t remember the full voicemail, and I need to know. I proposed if she could sum up to me, or give the downlights. Instead, she reached for her phone and played the down right toxic mail.

So I set on her couch, my eyes were unfocused for the duration of the voicemail. My mind played the last half decade of mismanaged shit with the worst soundtrack ever.

So, without further ado, I present you: Our Dirty Little Secret - Chapter 4 “Killers & Coffees”

“Betty has a new favorite place in town and as weird and bizzarre as it might sound, that place is the Whyte Wyrm. The Serpent's hangout and HQ. She's come to the conclusion that if she's able to find acceptance and a good laugh, the Whyte Wyrm is a nice place as any. The only thing she's not entirely honest with herself about, is the fact that what truly makes her come back to the club almost every weekend, is Jughead.”

Takes place JUST after their kiss in 4x17

“Arch -” He felt her pull back as clammy hands pressed against his chest, gently pushing him away.

Archie’s eyes fluttered open. If someone asked, he couldn’t explain what had just happened, or how it happened. All he could really do was feel. His heart was hammering, thumping furiously as his mind hummed with a thousand moments that had passed between them. She was so pure, so perfect and it had taken him so long to realise it; but the song, her voice, her eyes... everything called out to him and he couldn’t hold it back any longer.

He didn’t want her to say anything as his eyes locked onto hers, glistening like diamonds in the pale light.

Archie’s hand reached out and cupped Betty’s face, she lent into his hand and pressed a feather light kiss onto his palm.

“We can’t.” Her voice was shaky. Her breathing uneven.

Her eyes lowered and she swallowed, hard.

“Betty, I -“ he didn’t quite know the words. She looked up and her caught his gaze.

“I should get going. I mean, it’s getting late.”

She slipped away from him. Archie’s body stilled and he couldn’t bring himself to move. His eyes trailed after Betty as she turned. She looked over her shoulder, a softness in her eyes.

“I’ll text you.” She said simply before her feet shuffled and she shuffled out the door.

He heard the door click, his heart still racing.

His fingers found his lips, the essence of Betty, ruby red and raw, still burned upon them.

Things were about to get a whole lot complicated, but one thing was certain. The boy who once thought he would never be good enough, knew in his heart that it didn’t matter to her.

Pulling his phone out, he quickly typed a message, sent it and waited.

‘We need to talk. Meet me at the bunker later.’

She was usually quick to reply, but a short time passed and Archie grew nervous. Suddenly his phone vibrated.

Dear Journal,

It feels as though the world is crashing down on me all at once. One second my dad is the black hood and my whole body is numb. Then as I get the slightest happiness back, Archie gets arrested. It’s like nothing has been normal since Jason’s death. Jason was just the start of what damage Riverdale will face. I hope Archie is okay. I’m going to visit him, but I am trying to avoid my dad at all costs. He’s the last thing I need to deal with right now. Jughead just asked me to be serpent Queen but my plate might be too full to take on that role with everything going on in Riverdale. Plus, Polly and my mom have been acting strange lately. Right now the priorities for Veronica, Jughead and I-Get Archie out of prison.
