RIVALRY TASK #009

now this could be interesting....considering you are all trapped in the safe house we are expecting one of two things to happen: you could start tearing each other to shreds or you could continue to bore the hell out of all of us. either way you’re not off the hook just yet. some of you may need this more than others so you might want to make sure you get this done.

we’ll go easy on you all considering your current predicament so this next task is all about you and your hobbies. we want to know the types of things you’d get up to in order to cure your own boredom. what can you delve into for hours on end? who knows maybe this little activity can help you get through the storm.

task 9 may be completed in several ways: through self para, character aesthetics / muse posts, photos, etc. this task is meant to serve as a bit of character exploration. you get to dive into your character a bit further. let us all get to know them a little more, even in the most mundane fashion. although we’ve listed a few ways this task could be complete it truly is up to you on how you want to get this done. get creative!! nothing is off limits or too small of a hobby/task to be added. make sure you are tagging each post with #rivalrytask009 so that we can all see it!!

we are requiring a minimum of FIVE posts in relation to your characters hobbies or things they may do to keep themselves entertained. of course you can always do more than five posts if you enjoy this particular activity, but five posts will ensure that your character’s secrets are kept under wraps.

this task will be due on the 16TH OF DECEMBER which gives you two full weeks to complete it!!

RIVALRY TASK #006.

well, well, well... it seems you’ve all survived this long. everything is getting a bit too friendly and i don’t know about you guys, but we’re getting bored. it seems you’ve all forgotten this is a competition, so why don’t we remind you by turning up the heat a bit?

for this task, you’ll be participating with your house mates. that’s right, each house will receive a different task. to see what you’re doing, find your house UNDER THE CUT. 

task six will be completed through either self para or a para/thread with another member of your house. the starter of the thread/self para MUST be tagged with #rivalrytask006  and to be complete don't by the 9TH OF AUGUST to be seen by the producers. if ALL members of the house succeed in the given task, each person in your house will get to make one phone call home. BUT, should any person fail, they will receive a strike against them, their house will not get to call home, and they will be one step closer to their secret being revealed. not too much pressure, though, right? that being said, continue reading below to see what you’ll be faced with this week.

task number four already ?? crazy. time flies when you’re having fun, right ?? some more than others. the time spent here on rivalry island has been giving me literal whiplash. one minute you guys are boring, the next it’s the greatest show ever, and then you guys let me down again. what’s happening ?? it’s good that i’ve got something planned for you all i know you’re gonna love. but that’s coming soon. for now, i’ve put together something very interesting, for myself, that i can’t wait to see the results of. 

you’re all going to be writing a self para for me to read that contains something of your choice. as long as it’s a memory that was a major turning point and or defining moment in your whole life time. no one else will be reading these, it’s totally private. so, make sure it’s dramatic, eye-opening, angst-filled or even romantic. as long as it contains what you need to complete the task; at least FIVE HUNDRED WORDS.

that’s right, we’re assigning each and everyone of you an essay. an essay due in a weeks time (monday, the 24th of july) and signed off with the hashtag #rivalrytask004, then, posted on the dash. 

ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, i present you’re third task since arriving here on rivalry island !! this one is a little easier than last week, as we noticed how many of you failed. how unfortunate. for you. not me. 

for this task, each of you will be interviewed. one by one, member by member, each of you will be brought into a room to be asked a series of questions ( that you can find below the cut ) about you, your personality and your opinions on various topics since arriving on the show. 

we ask you to complete this through something that is very similar to a self para. but not quite. you can find an example right HERE. notice how they used gifs in between topic changes ?? you’re going to be asked to do the same.

task must be complete by next wednesday, the 12th of july.

( disclaimer: members who are new to the cast and are finding it difficult to answer some of the questions, please don’t fret !! the task doesn’t have to be complete until next wednesday. hopefully this gives you enough time to plot and enjoy the dash so you can answer as much as you can. if you continue to be unable to, not to worry, just write beneath them a little disclaimer as to why you’ve chosen to leave them blank. or even make something up !! )

how’s your first few days on the island so far, ladies and gentlemen ?? anything catch your eye ?? perhaps a certain someone ?? or maybe you just haven’t gotten to know anyone just yet. that’s exactly why your first task is to complete two main jobs !! let not just your cast mates know who you are but also the thousands of people watching through a screen who are just dying to see what unfolds each episode. 

members must first create a MOODBOARD. a series of nine gifs that help describe your character !! you can find an example of one right HERE !! 

on top of that, rivalry island is asking you to put together a PLAYLIST a total of FIVE songs that you feel are perfect for your character !! one of which must of been released on the year your character was born !! you can find an example of this task right HERE !!

by now, surely you’ve all met each other, gotten a slight idea of who’s who and what types of personalities roam rivalry island, right ?? well, i’d most certainly hope so. because for your next task, we’re going to be putting your knowledge on each character to the test. sort of. 

each member is going to be sent the name of another cast member. this will determine who their very own ‘recipient’ is for the next week. until next saturday at 12:00am EST. one rule, you must not tell anyone who you’ve been given.

to do this, you must continue throughout the next few days sending them anonymous letters about whatever but making sure to include ONE fact about yourself, whether it be about your personality or your appearance. you should send one a day, meaning in total; you would send seven. try not to make it obvious when you’re talking to your ‘recipient’ in person either, otherwise you’ll face a strike. one strike closer to your secret being revealed for all to hear.

to check that each member has been given seven, they must react to the letter. ( by posting the anon with their character’s response, possibly pointing out the fact about their correspondent ). if we fail to count seven by next sunday, again; you’ll be at risk of a strike. 

but there’s more !! on the sunday, everyone must reveal who they think it was sending them letter this whole time ( by just posting it and tagging it with #rivalrytask002 ). if they succeed in their decision, they are rewarded with an invitation to a long night out of the best music, the variety of drinks to choose from and a ten minute phone call with a loved one from home.

 “So, my name is Paxton Williams, I was born in London, England in September 5th, 1992 so that makes me 25 and a virgo. I also have lived in London all of my life. Family has a huge business there for generations. My favorite memory? Wow, literally I can’t choose just one. I loved when I was about six and my parents adopted my brother. We got in so much trouble the day he got home cause we ran around the house like crazy goones.”

“My mother is named Ruth and my father is named Charles. My mom is a trophy wife, stays at home does charity events and things of that sort. My father is or well was  President of the family business. I have taken over since then and have become an awful workaholic.” 

“In school? A trouble maker? Athletic? I don’t know honestly. I guess I was normal? But popular so I was a bit big headed. But whatever I landed a great girl and we were together for awhile through school and it made going to school so much better. Yes I did go to university after I attended school. I majored in business studies and I had a great time partying there.” 

"my greatest achievement is definitely my business. we were voted the top financial company in the world. I believe it was number three and that is because I took over the company. I know my father was good at what he did, but I brought it to the next level.” 

“I think I’d really love to master cooking. Nothing like a good home cooked meal. I know my mom is really great at it and she could teach me, but I wouldn’t want to deal with her in the kitchen, she can be a little crazy.”

"My greatest compliment I’ve received? I literally have no idea. But I do love when people tell me I look good in my suits. Which is a guilty pleasure of mine, I own maybe thirty suits every time i go in to be tailored, I just buy more. It’s a real problem. My biggest pet peeve is probably when people wear shoes without socks. It just urks me, I mean seriously, just put on a pair of socks!”

“To me, as long as you love each other, and they are your best friend at the end of the day, it’s all that matters to me. Oh and trust. Gotta have trust. I used to date like five girls at once. So whatever. But I only want one now. Actually I don’t remember my first date. I’ve been on so many now, it’s a bit embarrassing. But the worst one I’ve been on is burnt into my brain. This one time, I was out with my twentieth? secretary. Was it the twentieth? I think so. Anyway, she threw up all over the table when I took her to a five star restaurant. So embarrassing, I can’t ever show my face in there again.” 

“My brother. He thought I needed a break from everything in my life. I probably ended up on the island because I’m an ex of one of the other contestants. They were probably like, oooooo drama. HA! No drama here though. Haven’t you seen Nova and I? We are getting a little bit closer since I first got on the island on season one. I try to always look my best anyway, so that isn’t an issue of having to look good on the show.”
