it deeply frustrates me that a lot of the invincible (show) fandom has all the wrong problems with rudy. I mostly see “he stole rexs name after his death what an asshole” and not the whole practically pedophilia plotline he has with amanda. think about it. someone pointed out once that amanda was attracted to rex a bit, and rudy knew this, and that they wouldn’t get together because rex just wouldn’t date someone who looks like a kid. for this reason is why he targeted rex specifically for his dna (because amanda was attracted to rex and he wanted amanda to be attracted to him as well, so...). now, he made sure to make himself rex’s teenage body because, bodily, amanda is a teenager. rudy, who is a middle-aged man, put himself into the body of a teenager (after non-consentually stealing someone’s dna), all so he could get with someone who ,due to her powers, is a child.
“but rin amanda is actually an adult it’s just her body that --” it’s still so incredibly weird! that’s practically the excuse pedophiles make, “oh but they were mature so it was okay”, no that does not make things okay! rudy stole rex’s dna without his consent, so that he could put himself into rex’s TEENAGE body to make amanda attracted to him, without looking like a creep. if him taking rex’s name is the only thing that bothers you, I think you should relook at the entire situation.
also, the fact that people are ignoring this entire thing at all just because rudy is generally “likeable” and has done good things baffles me. this is definitely something that needs to be acknowledged more. i’m not saying it’s rare, i’m sure others have discussed this, but it’s not as common as it needs to be - rudy bashing for these reasons is very welcome. god i hate that guy
