I gotta know are any google + vets here after like what 3 years ago cuz dam I wanna find y’all again.
My friend and I are going through an instagram account that uploads cursed google plus screenshots and I remember seeing so many of them I miss google plus so much no other website can recreate that raw energy
google+ was where my first legit social media account was. i had an account there long before i even got my phone. i spent over 2 good years meeting so much more people on google+ than any other account i have. sure, all i did was spam a bunch of dumb and edgy memes and vent and sometime (okay, rarely) fan art, but there was always something about it that intrigued me more than the other sites or apps i had.
i’ve seen a bunch people spit on google+ and talk badly about it for pretty much being “not popular” or “google trying to be social media” and “tumblr but worse” and it would always upset me a bit. and i was heartbroken finding out that it was going to be shut down on 2 april 2019.
google+ got me into social media and memes and all that internet stuff and whatnot. google+ inspired me to start drawing (although i was terrible at it and gave up). it’s even where i found my first relationship. and my life (as melodramatic as this will sound) won’t be the same without it. i’ll miss all 155 of my followers, and posting in little communities, and into my little collections.
thank you google, for a wild, weird, and fun 809 days

You may be gone soon, but you’ll never be forgotten.
When I was growing up, two or three men I looked up to (for dumb kid reasons, like they were dads of my best friends, or they were the fucking pastor) would say things like "It's impossible to understand women," or "My wife is still a mystery to me." Thankfully my dad never said anything like that, but he never said anything to the contrary either. Furthermore I was homeschooled, and about half of weekly church activities for grade-schoolers were gender-segregated. On top of that, nobody ever encouraged boys to be friends with girls.
This really fucked me up and it's thanks to the grace of God, high school, college, and places like Tumblr and G+ where Gender Doesn't Matter that I have any semblance of a sane perspective on the human race.
TLDR fuck gender normativity and misogyny and teach children that everyone has dignity and is worth talking to
