Lume Cosplay, Operaatio Fredrik and Rintamasuunta are proud to finally present you the Haikyuu!! Smashup!

Last Saturday our cosplay group Rintamasuunta (IG, FB, YT, Twitter) had the honour to present our newest cosplay show as the opening act of the Finnish Cosplay Championships at GamExpo! This time we had picked Avatar: The Last Airbender as our series and the skit turned out to be more comical and joyful than some of our previous ones. It was super fun to work on and to perform! We had a pretty tight practise schedule (since the Haikyuu project took most of our time until early September) and I'm really proud of everyone learning their parts so quickly and so well. The skit went according to keikaku as they say and seems like the audience liked it too (THANK YOU ♥). It feels like I was on the stage only for a second but I thoroughly enjoyed that second. I wrote about our Haikyuu!! project here in January, right? Last Sunday, it was finally the time to perform on the stage and present what Operaatio Fredrik, @lumecosplay and @rintamasuunta have been working on for a whole year! The showtime was during the cosplay competition intermission: first, Operaatio Fredrik performed their comedy piece featuring members from Aoba Johsai and Johzenji, then Lume Cosplay presented their epic CMV depicting Nekoma's practice and match against Karasuno, and finally Rintamasuunta presented the other half of the Nekoma match through dance. In total, we had 27 people on the stage (plus one person who was on CMV but couldn't attend the con) so that has to be among the largest cosplay skits, huh? Now that it's over, I feel a bit empty. I'm so glad that I could be a part of this project, it was a lot of work but so much fun. 😭💕 I learnt a lot and got to know new people. It is an honour to work with all these talented and passionate people! ❤ For my part, I'm not a good dancer and I know there was plenty of room for improvement in my performance but I also didn't catastrophically fail and I had a really fun time on the stage. Surprisingly, I was also less nervous about this than about our earlier skits so maybe my stage fright is decreasing.

9th July

Come to the court if you want an ass kicking. The first day of CMV filming is done! I had a blast - and apparently also spent all of my energy, I'm exhausted! We'll continue filming for two more days ☆ #episodecawcaw #rintsu #rintamasuunta #haikyuu #cosplay

We also had cosplayers from outside of our group and extras who acted as the audience and of course camerapeople and assistants 😭💕 So thankful for everyone's effort! This is teamwork ✌💕

14th July

Posting a couple of selfies from #episodecawcaw shooting that I have already shared in my Instastory/Twitter ✌ Those who are interested can find more in the hashtag (especially on Twitter)! The three days we spent filming were really fun and also somewhat tiring (although for myself the most energy-consuming aspects were probably waking up early and socialising - I didn't have to exercise terribly much). Anyway, I've spent the last two days mostly just resting. I'm eagerly waiting to see the finished cmv but it will take some time since there are still scenes left to film and then there's the huge task of going through all filmed footage and actually editing it into a complete video (good luck & ganbatte, @aleathans and possible helpers!). Before we started filming, some of us had already spent hours and hours creating the script, finding locations, scheduling, gathering actors, assistants and extras, and making costumes and props (etc). I'm really impressed that so many people devote their time to this project! 😭💕 I'm especially thankful to our camerapeople & assistants, Dateko actors, and audience who came at such a short notice. 🙏🙏🙏 Also really damn proud of all @rintamasuunta members who are a bunch of super sweet and passionate people with a large variety of talents and who I'll never stop loving (it's an honour to know you and work with you). #rintamasuunta #haikyuu

(Also, I'm happy I'm kinda getting the hang of cosplaying Daichi - by that I mean that portraying him is getting easier and more natural. He's a really fun character to play as!)
