9th July

Come to the court if you want an ass kicking. The first day of CMV filming is done! I had a blast - and apparently also spent all of my energy, I'm exhausted! We'll continue filming for two more days ☆ #episodecawcaw #rintsu #rintamasuunta #haikyuu #cosplay

We also had cosplayers from outside of our group and extras who acted as the audience and of course camerapeople and assistants 😭💕 So thankful for everyone's effort! This is teamwork ✌💕

14th July

Posting a couple of selfies from #episodecawcaw shooting that I have already shared in my Instastory/Twitter ✌ Those who are interested can find more in the hashtag (especially on Twitter)! The three days we spent filming were really fun and also somewhat tiring (although for myself the most energy-consuming aspects were probably waking up early and socialising - I didn't have to exercise terribly much). Anyway, I've spent the last two days mostly just resting. I'm eagerly waiting to see the finished cmv but it will take some time since there are still scenes left to film and then there's the huge task of going through all filmed footage and actually editing it into a complete video (good luck & ganbatte, @aleathans and possible helpers!). Before we started filming, some of us had already spent hours and hours creating the script, finding locations, scheduling, gathering actors, assistants and extras, and making costumes and props (etc). I'm really impressed that so many people devote their time to this project! 😭💕 I'm especially thankful to our camerapeople & assistants, Dateko actors, and audience who came at such a short notice. 🙏🙏🙏 Also really damn proud of all @rintamasuunta members who are a bunch of super sweet and passionate people with a large variety of talents and who I'll never stop loving (it's an honour to know you and work with you). #rintamasuunta #haikyuu

(Also, I'm happy I'm kinda getting the hang of cosplaying Daichi - by that I mean that portraying him is getting easier and more natural. He's a really fun character to play as!)

Ok so I went to Tracon a week ago! I cosplayed Bak from D.Gray-man because the new anime season has awakened some nostalgia feels in me. I’m not fully satisfied with the costume but at least it turned out to be very comfy to wear all weekend. Sadly I don’t have any proper photos of the cosplay, crappy selfies only.

I spent most of the Saturday meeting friends (and a relative). On Sunday our cosplay group Rintamasuunta performed in the cosplay show competition. I didn’t take part in this project because my school year was extremely intensive so I simply wouldn’t have had the time. However, it was nice to visit a few practice meet-ups and help with practical things on the big day: the few of us who didn’t perform on Sunday took care of the actors’ lunch - and we did it with style as can be seen in the above photos. The lion represents the true Rintsu spirit. Or maybe it’s an inside joke. As a surprise, we also got them roses which went well with the series choice that on Sunday morning was revealed to be Ouran High School Host Club. (All of this was somehow somewhat hysterical - maybe it was the lack of sleep, maybe it was the lions.)

It was exciting to see the finished skit from the audience. Rintsu performed last and I was so nervous I was shaking. :---D But of course it went amazingly well, I loved it, and judging by the incredible noise and applause, so did the rest of the audience. Not to my surprise, they got the well-deserved first place! ☆ A video recording will be posted on our YouTube channel and Facebook once it’s finished. (I’m not sure if I’ll reblog it here, as there is zero input from my part. So maybe go follow Rintsu’s social media accounts wink wink. ;) )

All in all an awesome weekend! Btw, we also got matching team jackets with Rintsu! See here. The group turns six years old this autumn and I must say back in 2010 I could never have imagined we would go this far. I love these guys so much. We also have exciting plans for the future but more about that later on~

Tracon was the last convention of the year for me, the next one will be in January at earliest. I’d like to apologise for my shitty blogging performance this year. :”) I went to 7 conventions and made 4 new costumes but I have posted 0 proper pictures of them. I’ve been too busy to make a post about Cosvision (that was held in... April) but I actually have nice photos from it - I’ll try to post them this week! There are some photos from a couple of conventions that are still on their way to me because other people are busy too, but mostly I just haven’t bothered to ask anyone to take a photo of me and the hastily thrown-together rags I’ve somehow dared to put on. Maybe next year I’ll do better!
