The Treaty of Jaffa was signed between king Richard I of England and Saladin, leading to the end of the Third Crusade. . âź The Treaty of Jaffa was an agreement during the Crusades. It was signed on 2 September 1192 between the Muslim ruler Saladin & king Richard I of England, shortly after the JulyâAugust 1192 Battle of Jaffa. The treaty guaranteed a three-year truce between the two armies. . âź The treaty guaranteed safe passage of Christians & Muslims through Palestine whilst also stating that the Christians would hold the coast from Tyre to Jaffa. However Ascalonâs fortifications were to be demolished & the town returned to Saladin.
