My first 40K model was one of the old two-piece, push-fit Termagants. But really, my taste for them probably stems from how novel they were to just-getting-into-Warhammer me. I understood 'space orcs' or 'techno aliens' or 'terminator robots', but the Tyranids were actually new...possibly because I'd never played Starcraft at that time.
