I like it, but... boy, do I not always like how people portray it. Atem is not this suave charmer, his reaction to a potential date was yelling at Yugi to let him back into the puzzle. If he’s forced to linger after duels, he’s often kind of awkward and unsure. Dueling has rules, social situations don’t. Yugi may get flustered, but he’s not some meek sub- the kid was passing around a porn tape with a friend in like chapter 2 and stood up to the strongest kid in school to protect his friends. They’re not who they sometimes portray themselves as.
That said, I REALLY like their dynamic. They originally saw themselves as two halves of Yugi, and as they slowly realized they weren’t, the intimacy remained, and they share not only a body, but in a way, a soul- both are viciously protective of the other, but also will happily share their life, and that kind of connection is really interesting. Yugi has the ability to pull back control in an instant if he needs (think the Arkana and rooftop Duelist Kingdom duels) but likewise will also pull himself back so Atem can have a chance to just experience life.

Favourite depiction of werewolves, and/or favourite thing about werewolves?
Oh gosh, that’s a hard one. I’m not sure I have a favorite depiction, really. I’m fond of Elder Scrolls werewolves in general, at least in most cases. That might end up being my favorite, since it’s one of the few things I’ve encountered that really try to do werewolves in anything I feel is “right,” and they’re relatively rare, powerful and dangerous, commanding fear and respect.
Favorite thing ABOUT werewolves? Everything. Every. Thing. I couldn’t pick one thing I love about them. I love it all. The transformation, the duality, the connection between man and beast. I love the feral ones and the ones who can control themselves. I love their struggle, their uniqueness, their… All of it.
