I really want to know what caused the quiet rapture.
I have a theory that the god that is referenced to be on the other side of the anomaly is what caused it, but accidentally.

What if thats being literal. An ignorant god looked through the pinhole at the bottom of the blood sea, declared that the few moons and stations that it could see were all that existed, and thus those moons and stations were all that could exist.
It would explain why they are so focused on this moon in particular, and why they belive it could be humanity's salvation. If they can just get this ignorant god to put things back to the way they were, then humanity would be saved. But to do that they need to know whats down there, and something does not want humanity to know whats down there.
