What is this called in English? replacement cable for headphones?
What is this called in English? replacement cable for headphones?
I have these headphones and the cord (which is detachable from both sides) failed due to…mechanical force being applied to it?.. the headphones themselves are fine, I just need a new cord like this but I don't know what the right search term for that would be..or the correct query that would yield the most relevant results (being that English isn't my native language)

If you leave your toothbrush in your bathroom then you could have bacteria collecting on it. Microscopy Research and Technique found that if you leave your toothbrush sitting out, it could collect fecal bacteria. Aerosolized droplets splatter when you flush. They can go pretty far, up to 20 feet.

LPT: Remaining self sufficient after a hip replacement
LPT: Remaining self sufficient after a hip replacement
I have had a lot of hip surgery, the last one being a full hip replacement. I've gotten better and better at the recovery so I thought that I'd pass on some of my experience. This post isn't intended to give any advice that your physiotherapist will give you – it's just some practical advice to make the recovery period easier for you.
Your body Fortunately, hip surgery is something that you can see coming so it's something for which you can prepare. In the run-up to your surgery do the following:
Lose Weight Every kilogram that you can lose is a kilogram that you don't have to carry around on your shoulders after your surgery. It is WELL worth it.
Exercise your shoulders I recommend push-ups and dips. These two exercises will strengthen your shoulders, which will be taking all of your weight when you're on crutches.
Purchases Velcro shoes You won't be able to tie your shoe laces, and flip flops are quite difficult to hold on to when you're on crutches. I recommend trainers with velcro laces. I've tried long-handled shoe horns, but you need to create too much down-force from your injured leg to make them practical.
Gym gloves You're essentially going to be walking on your hands for a few months, so get yourself some fingerless gym gloves to prevent blisters.
Memory foam Buy a small piece of memory foam to wrap around the handles of your crutches. The foam will distribute the weight so that no part of your hand ends up taking all of your weight all of the time.
A long handled scrubbing brush/sponge This is to clean your body without being able to bend at the waist.
A messenger bag You won't have your hands, so something as simple as carrying your food from one room to the other is impossible. Backpacks are impractical because they need to be taken off to access them. Get yourself a messenger bag and wear it with the strap on the injured side's shoulder, and the bag hanging on the hip of the uninjured side.
A watertight lunchbox When carrying food for yourself between rooms, you'll need to put it into something. I used a big, watertight, container. It was used for pasta, soup, biscuits – pretty much anything. This went straight into the messenger bag. You should also get yourself a sealable drink bottle that is insulated so that you don't burn yourself through the messenger bag while carrying hot beverages.
Braces You won't be able to wear a belt, so get yourself a pair of braces (suspenders) to keep your trousers from falling down. If you managed to lose weight (the suggestion at the top) then you will probably have a pair of very loose trousers hanging around.
A grabber For picking things up off the ground without being able to bend at the waist. Also very useful for pulling your trousers up and closing the velcro on the aforementioned trainers.
Going to the toilet Sorry, I don't have any suggestions for this except for installing a chin-up bar above your toilet. The same applies to putting a bar close to your shower/bath. Just make sure that it's VERY sturdy – if it breaks while you're leaning on it, you'll instinctively try to catch yourself with your bad leg (because the other one is already on the ground). I learned that the hard way.
That's all, folks If anybody has any other suggestions to add, I'd love to hear them. I'll need another replacement in about 10 years, so any further suggestions would definitely help me.
