Arctically cold take, but I fucking hate working from home & it only makes my mental health worse. If I can't geographically separate workplace & domestic environments, I would rather die by harakiri

Online classes are sometimes easier for AVPD than in-person classes, but thatās only if itās like... a lecture where you never have to talk or show your face.
If they make you turn your video on and/or speak, I feel likeĀ itās actually worse than being there in person because thereās so much extra focus on your face and voice ā normally, everyone isnāt looking at you the whole time and you feel less like youāre giving a presentation every time you speak.
To all the virtual school teachers out there
Please for the love of god, let me turn my camera off. I know it means I may not be paying attention, trust me, Iām not paying attention anyway.
I donāt want to have to worry about the face I make when I think. I donāt want to have to worry about bad lighting. I donāt want to have to worry about how close I am to the camera. I donāt want to have to worry about how I look, if I have acne, if I make a weird face when I yawn, if my cat turns around and shows her butt to the camera (cause cats).
Please let me turn my camera off. I will be able to work so much better if I donāt have to worry. People wonāt pay attention no matter what you do, so let people not pay attention comfortably.
My sisterās high school chemistry class is having online lectures now and the first 15 minutes was a crisis because every student felt the need to unmute their mic to sayĀ āhiāĀ
My must-haves for remote learning
A blanket- life is so much better with a blanket, plus, my legs get cold.
A mouse-like, a computer mouse, not the rodent. I put my computer far from me cause I donāt wanna be super close to the camera. Hence the mouse.
A sweatshirt-I get cold. Plus, they comfy
Sweatpants/pj pants-as long as youāre dressed on the top, youāre fine.
Headphones-I donāt wanna play anything out loud, plus they cut out some outside noise.
A nice drink-treat yo self.
A CHARGER-online school BURNS though my battery on my computer.
Love all of you, good luck. We can make it through this. ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

Remote classes in 2020:
My classmates: *claiming they are hating remote classes even though they often complained about in-person classes*
Me: *actually enjoying remote classes because I can finally focus on learning instead of looking palatable for my classmates and teachers that were always unsatisfied with me*
The New Normal: How Student Life Has Changed Drastically Recently
The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has caused a significant shift in the way we live, work, and learn. With social distancing measures in place, students have been forced to adapt to a new normal of online learning and remote classes. This sudden shift has brought about many changes to student life, which has affected them in various ways. One of the most significant changes is the transition from traditional classroom learning to online learning. With schools and universities closed to prevent the spread of the virus, educators have been forced to take their lessons online. This has created a new digital education system that students must learn to navigate. Many students have found it challenging to adjust to this new format of learning, which requires a high level of self-discipline, time management, and motivation. The pandemic has also highlighted the digital divide that exists in many parts of the world, where students may not have access to the technology and resources required for online learning. This has further widened the gap between privileged and disadvantaged students, making it harder for the latter to keep up with their studies. Moreover, the pandemic has also impacted students' mental health, as they struggle with the uncertainty and anxiety caused by the pandemic. With social distancing measures in place, students have had to deal with isolation and limited social interaction, which has affected their emotional well-being.In conclusion, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a significant shift in student life, with many changes that have affected them in various ways. While online learning and remote classes may be the new normal, it has created challenges that students must overcome. By adapting to this new digital education system and seeking support when needed, students can continue to thrive in their studies despite the challenges posed by the pandemic.Overall, this unprecedented situation has caused drastic changes in the lives of students, and it is crucial for them to be resilient and adaptable to cope with the challenges that come their way.
