Description
Emperor Leopold I (reigned 1658–1705) was a devoutly Catholic, Baroque-era Holy Roman Emperor who, in a significant act of piety, placed the Habsburg hereditary lands under the special protection of St. Joseph. This act (c. 1690) highlighted his deep religious conviction, often referred to as pietas Austriaca, which shaped his reign during a period of severe conflicts with the Ottoman Empire and France

thinking about sausage and pearl's lore and how the main thread running through their relationship is devotion. not just in a religious sense, either. it's more than just loyalty, tho that is there. it's not soulmates or romantic or anything like that, though the friendship between them is clearly very strong and that shines through when they're together. it goes beyond all of that. and that's such an interesting thing to play with because it does go both ways and you can see that.
sausage spent so long trying to bring her back, not realising she was still there, but in a different form, all he had to do was see her. and perhaps she took so long to come and bring him to his rest because she was figuring her own transformation out, and sausage is not the kind of person to be taken away before he's finished either, so she waited and watched his pain until he was ready to go.
it's the way she watches over him and cares for him, even when no on else did, not necessarily with any sentimentality bc that's not really her style, but he knows she's there for him no matter what, and she never gives up on him, even after becoming a goddess. especially after becoming a goddess. she's so important to him that he builds two cathedrals in her honour, and she's there to welcome him back at the end of his lives. and she knows what he got up to because she was watching. and he isn't taken to any random version of the afterlife either, it's in the home she build for herself. it's her home. she's welcoming him home in a very personal sense. (and that brings up an aside about s8 and simulations and why that specific base became her afterlife but i digress)
i just think that's such an interesting theme to write about and it works so well with them. pearl being absent from afterlife and es2 is both her not wanting to do too much at once, but also explains, lore-wise, where she is now, watching over sausage as he keeps going on. but then they met up. and neither expected to. and it made everything so real and now they both remember. and where they go from here is going to be so interesting to watch.
idk just. as someone who knows religious devotion (and other forms of devotion) and loves writing about it in both a personal way and in fiction, it's the kind of story that's hitting just all of my buttons and i'm so eager to see how pearl decides to play her side of the lore now that she remembers.
inscriptions in a few of anne boleyn’s books of hours
1: “le temps viendra, je anne boleyn (the time will come, i anne boleyn)” under an image of judgement day, with an astrolabe representing time drawn.
2: a love note written by henry viii to anne - (in french) “if you remember my love in your prayers as strongly as i adore you, i shall hardly be forgotten, for i am yours. Henry R forever.” - beneath a wounded and praying jesus
3: anne answers henry with a rhyming couplet - “be daly prove you shall me fynde, to be to you bothe lovynge and kynde.” - underneath an image of the archangel gabriel informing the virgin mary she will birth the son of God.
4: by anne, “remember me when you do pray, that hope doth lead from day to day, anne boleyn”, across from an image of the virgin mary’s coronation
Do you wonder what Jesus was referring to when He asked Peter, “Lovest thou me more than these?”
Relating this question to ourselves in our day, the Lord may be asking us about how busy we are and about the many positive and negative influences competing for our attention and our time. He may be asking each of us if we love Him more than the things of this world. This may be a question about what we really value in life, who we follow, and how we view our relationships with family members and neighbors. Or maybe He is asking what really brings us joy and happiness.
Do the things of this world bring us the joy, happiness, and peace that the Savior offered to His disciples and that He offers to us? Only He can bring us true joy, happiness, and peace through our living Him and following His teachings.
How would we answer the question “Lovest thou me more than these?”
When we discover a fuller meaning of this question, we can become better family members, neighbors, citizens, members of the Church, and sons and daughters of God.
Calling all low energy, chronically (mentally/physically) ill, spoonie, disabled, etc followers of Cernunnos
Please excuse this break in the regular @blesscernunnos programming!
I'm chronically fatigued and mentally ill. I am essentially a spoonie as well. I am looking for advice on active worship and religious practice that is appropriately devotional towards Cernunnos/the gods/Dewoi but which takes into account the aforementioned health problems.
I'm scared that the Dewoi will see me as weak, lesser, and not sincere because of my limitations. I am looking for advice, experiences, and reassurance. I really appreciate any help, either via this post or message. Thank you.

I remember, when I was flitting between Christianity and Paganism in my school years, we had a lesson on the life of Buddhist monks in Tibet in R.E. I spent a while contemplating the idea of joining a monastery. It seemed like a good way for me to get the quiet solitude I desired while also teaching and serving others in a devoted and spiritual lifestyle. As I’m not Buddhist, despite Gnosticism having a lot of similarities, I don’t think that option is really available to me. Plus it would probably cut me off completely from my strictly secular family.
I think if there was a nearby monastery dedicated to serving the Heavenly Mother I would seriously consider becoming a Nun there, no matter what anyone thought.
