At their core, arguments for abortion access and arguments against circumcision are the same thing (bodily autonomy) against the same group fighting against it (religious people trying to assert their beliefs and control the body of others) and are just gendered differently. Send Tumbl.
DO YOU THINK THIS IS NORMAL? WHAT IF CHRISTIANS DO THE SAME IN ANY ARABIC COUNTRY
🤨🧐🤔
Ramadan is approaching
Fucking Ramadan is soon. And basically, for ex Muslims, yea we’re basically fucked.

Child indoctrination
Something that really makes me feel sad and sick is how children are indoctrinated. It's so sad to see, I see it near enough every day and if there's one thing I could stop religion from doing, it's targeting children. You're taking away a child's innocence and forcing them into believing and practising something that they shouldn't be doing. They don't know any better. They don't know what they're doing, what any of it means, what it's worth. I see kids reading off Quran or bible verses. Chanting Allah or Jesus. It's like if I got my kid to learn and rap Eminem songs. You'd think I was fucking insane. You're brainwashing your kids by making them believe in what you believe. If you wanna have religious kids, wait until they're old enough to know better. But by then it's too late. So it all works out anyway. Child indoctrination is child abuse. I've seen kids cry during religious prayers and as someone who has managed to escape the toxicity of religion it's some of the most heart breaking shit I'll probably ever see.
One thing I've learnt to do really easily and effectively is to lie. Having very strict and controlling parents as well as being a secret atheist has taught me to lie within seconds of hearing something. It's like the feeling of guilt has been wrenched from my body, I can look into my mums eyes and lie right to her and I don't feel bad about it because I know if I told her the truth I'd be on house arrest until I die. It does sometimes get to me, I don't wanna have to lie to my parents all the time. It would be easier to just say what I want but I know I'd have more to lose if I was honest. Even if I do get caught lying, I still lie. I know it's the same for a lot of others with strict parents.
Best thing about this mini holiday
Honestly something I've enjoyed more than anything about my parents being away is the lack of religious bullshit I'm exposed to. When you're irreligious, being in a very religious environment is straining. Not only mentally and emotionally but intellectually too. You're just sitting there thinking, yep bullshit. That's bollocks. Science proves you wrong there. But when you're finally out of that environment it's so amazing. You're literally free. It's a small taste of freedom and I've loved every second of it.
