I just realized how easy it is to relate to Doof and Vanessa's relationship as father and daughter. While I was watching Skiddley Whiffers I saw the part where Vanessa felt like her Doof didn't fully trust her because he was constantly spying on her. It reminded me of how I've felt with my parents from time to time as I am Vanessa's age and have gone through moments where I'll feel like my parents are a bit over-protective and it'll make me feel like they just don't trust me even though they say they know I'm responsible. I mean they obviously do not go nearly to the extent that Doof goes to with Vanessa but still more protective then I'd like them to be sometimes.
It just made me realize how easy it is to relate to this show at times. Most of the time it's hard to relate to building rollercoasters and taking over the Tri-State Area but when you really look at the relationships amongst the characters, it is amazing how much they portray real-life relationships and conflicts.
On the other side, I'm sure parents can relate to the idea of not wanting their babies to grow up and maybe even knowingly going too far with trying to keep them safe and not wanting them to get hurt.
