people “girl blogging” abt pro dance is pissing me off. dance isn’t “just a girl” thing. i feel like it gets so undermined as easy and just a girly little thing that anyone can do. no. so here’s my little rant abt what i love🫶
1) yes, it’s a mainly female SPORT. but, men participate often professionally, competitively, and casually.
2) it’s not a dainty thing. while yes, we preform with the intent to make it look easy. but it’s extremely difficult. dance can literally make me bedridden for a day with soreness.
3) girl blogging makes dance looked dumbed down. and this kinda goes with two, it’s not some easy shit everyone can pull off with a yawn.
4) a lot of people only post pointe and sometimes, but not usually, ballet. there’s so much more besides those two: tap, hiphop, musical theater, jazz, modern, contemporary, lyrical, irish dancing, acro or tumbling. let’s stop watering it down to pointe and ballet
