So... this is awkward. JKR definitely outed herself as being way more transphobic. Her recent book is even about a man dressing up as a woman to kill women. I cannot ignore the bigotry present in the Harry Potter series. There's so much to analyze and to find, if you look closely.
Being a trans person myself, I was heartbroken when JK revealed herself to be transphobic. My trans friends were heartbroken. My allied friends were heartbroken. Harry Potter is something I've loved for years, and grown up with. However, this does not change what is happening presently.
This blog was meant to be wholesome, and very inclusive to everyone. And it has been. I am so thankful for the community I've been a part of. However, I don't know how comfortable I am participating in the Harry Potter community for much longer. The community is far better than JKR will ever be, but the series it's based on isn't as good as we would like it to be.
As I have been mentioning for quite a while, I will be opening an Etsy shop. There, I plan to sell art, stickers, pins, homemade wands, and many other things. I'll link it here when it has been created.
I'm not sure what to do at this point. JKR isn't benefiting from me running this blog in any way, but I feel strange running it. If any of you have ideas, I would love to hear them.
Oh, and anyone who agrees with JKR on her opinions on trans people, feel free to block me 💕 I do not appreciate bigotry on my page.
