Kino Acting Workshop

This workshop will focus on the relationship between the actors and the director.

The training will give you keys on:

Actor’s part:

- How to let the character appear and speak already during first reading.

- How to be always ready to act, with physical involvement and full commitment to the role you play in the movie.

- Being aware of the body/voice connection.

- Working the connection with your partners. Don’t just play your part, play with your partners.

Director’s part:

- How to communicate your intentions properly.

- How to get the best out of the actors you’re working with at the moment.

- How to adapt the work to a short period of time. KinoKabarets are very short, we don’t have 3 weeks rehearsals.

- How to handle different levels of knowledge and experience.

- Making the difference between directing and coaching?

The directors will be invited to bring their scripts to exercise with them.

The workshop will be hosted by Patrick Forian, actor, director, pedagogue in Paris.

His method emphasizes gesture, posture and behavior in response to the environment and others.

The actor's physical involvement and the awareness of his or her role in the scenic and cinematographic composition, allow him or her to develop capacities of interpretation, to express emotions and intentions with precision and force of truth.

Ich muss heute noch einem Mann huldigen, der gestern an einer Autoimmunkrankheit im Alter von 69 Jahren verstorben ist: Harold Ramis. Den meisten dürfte er als Egon Spengler, dem knochtrockenen Parapsychologen aus den „Ghost Busters"-Filmen bekannt sein.

Er war aber nicht nur Schauspieler, sondern führte auch oft Regie, und schrieb die Drehbücher für die »Ghost Busters«-Reihe und für einige andere Brüllerfilme, bei denen ich mich schon in den frühen Achtzigern vorm TV und im Kino nass gemacht habe vor lachen. Bei einigen von diesen Filmen kann ich heute noch komplette Dialoge mitsprechen. Harold Ramis war in unterschiedlichen Funktionen an vielen Top-Komödien beteiligt: Caddyshack, Ich glaub' mich knutscht ein Elch, Ghostbusters I u. II, Täglich grüßt das Murmeltier, Besser geht's nicht, Reine Nervenache, etc. Außerdem hatte er oft den Godfather of Humor in seinen Filmen, Bill Murray.

Mr. Ramis arbeitete in jungen Jahren in einer Nervenheilanstalt und war Redakteur beim Playboy, was natürlich, wie man heute weiß, die besten Voraussetzungen waren, um die oben genannten Kultfilme zu schreiben und mit Leben zu füllen.

Ich hatte immer auf einem dritten Ghostbusters-Film gehofft, »Ghostbusters, die späten Jahre«, oder so, aber das wird sich jetzt nicht mehr erfüllen. Ich bedanke mich bei Harold »Ieehgon« Ramis für die wunderbaren Lacher und Dialoge, die er der Welt geschenkt hat.
